Hi Guys,
We finally had some time today to really look over a '95 RT/10 and see what it would take to bolt on the SC kit we make for the Gen 2. The only hurdle is the alternator. It's right where the SC drive is. I looked at it for a while, but can't seem to find a good place, or way, to relocate it. I even considered running it off the differential input (standard racer style), but that's not so good if you're stuck in traffic on a hot night. I know you're all a fairly resourceful bunch, so suggestions are welcome. If we can get over that hurdle, we'll build a test kit for somebody (we no longer own a Gen 1 for testing as it became Supercharger parts).
If the alternator is too hard to move or can't be done well, then a twin turbo would be a good option for a Gen 1. Back when we had a '94 RT/10 and the '96 GTS, I had visions of Supercharging the GTS and Twin Turbocharging the RT/10. I think the turbo route could be done reasonably close to the SC kit price (would not have to build a new intake manifold, but would need two turbos). Might be $1,500 to $2,000 more. Just a thought.
If you have any ideas on alternator relocation, drop me an e-mail.
Sean
