could someone tell me the i.d. of the upper hose, looking into puting a fitting in line with a temp guage to monitor temp when tuning . thanks to all
The temp of the coolant in the hose at that point will directly corrolate with whatever thermostat you are running in the car, regardless of how the car is tuned. Water wont flow much until the 'stat opens.
That is assuming that coolant temp never exceed Tstat rating and that is a wrong assumption, most cars, especialy Vipers run much warmer than rating.
What control the max temp is not the Tstat ( only control the MINIMUM temperature) but rather the cooling sysyem BTU's capacity
the water will exit the motor at whatever the stat is made for. If what you say is true the tstat would never close if the viper always ran warmer than what the tstat opening temp is designed for. That being said the temp range would be significant cold to warm, warmer, hot, hotter. How would you use that info to tune from when its all over the place.
