My buddy wants to me to take the viper to NJ from LI. Do you think it will be ok outside alone with alot of drunken football fans?

Let's see. Thousands of drunken football fans and a very flashy car parked out for anyone and his brother to violate. If you take the Viper I'd line up a good paint shop to paint over all the key marks you'll find when you get out of the game. They'll probably piss on your tires or your soft top too. Post pics of all the damage to your Viper after you drive the car back home from the game.

I drove my R/T to a motocross race at Texas Stadium and someone kicked the side of it. I figured I'd be safe around a bunch of gearheads, but that wasn't the case. If I were you, I'd leave the car at home!

Don't even think about it! Unless you feel like babysitting your car throughout the whole pre game festivities. Actually the tailgates at the meadowlands are usually better than the games these days. We usually elect the person with the worst car as our designated driver. GO JETS!!

A bit shocking that someone from the area even has to ask such a question, but since you did... I predict (unfortunately) that you'll find it keyed on both sides, both mirrors dangling from their cables and footprints on the hood.

I've seen it happen at the Meadowlands before especially at Jet games.

On the other hand, if you just looking for an insurance job, why not just park it on the Cross Bronx for a hour or two?

I was in the same scenario about 3 weeks ago with the Summer Sanitarium tour - big metal show.

Decided against it. It's just not worth the risk. Besides, if you're anything like me you'd probably worry about the car during the game and probably end up not enjoying the game (or sneaking out to check on the car).

I'd just leave it home for peace of mind. It does **** that we can't just assume that people won't turn into jealous little freaks at the very sight of one, let alone go ape$hit on one in the parking lot. *****. Such is life...

Don't do, even if no one intentionally tries to mess your car up, you will have scratches just from the hoards of ignorant and intoxicated people walking by your car.

If you don't mind a few scratches and beer cans/bottles on your car, take it.

Well, I took the Viper!! Excellent idea. We went through Manhattan both ways. Midtown tunnel and Lincoln tunnel. People in the city went crazy watching us at the stop lights. Gotta do it life is too short to worry so much. We tailgated with it and everything. I will post some pics if I could figure out how to do it. Everybody was so cool. The only thing that happened is a nerf football landed in my trunk from a bad throw. I took my spare crappy softtop just in case. No problems and had a ball.
If someone has an email that I can send them to let me know.

sweet, glad it worked out for you  Did you leave the car's side at all, or did you just watch the game in the parking lot?

I'm glad you enjoyed your car.... I always do. :)
Being anal about a car means much less enjoyment. Scratches and nicks can be fixed... enjoyment is priceless.

I take mine EVERYWHERE as well, downtown to the clubs, to a Korn concert, downtown DC, etc. etc., you only live once so far as I can tell.

How about dents or cracks if someone decides to take a piece of it. Too many fragile things and expensive stuff on a Viper for me to risk it.

That's just a chance we have to take right? If you're worried about dents or cracks I would suggest not buying a viper because you won't be driving it...

Gerald,

I hear what your saying, trust me... But I will say this... I am 99% sure my Viper would be damage, in some way, at a Steeler's game (even by accident). If I stayed with the car during the game, maybe not...

That being said, I agree that most people are waaaayyy to paranoid about parking/driving/etc... the Viper. It's a shame that a car soooo fun to drive sits in the garage for many owners....

Hey Gerald, now if it was a brand new Viper that I'd be buying, it would be a garage queen, seeing as many weekends as long as it's in good weather (no chances of rain), with rare track time. Keeping it as pristine as possible. But back to reality, when I buy my Viper, since it's going to be bought used and -/~ $30k, it'll already be slightly used. I wouldn't mind having my Viper get a few bug splatters and a couple stone chips. I'm going to drive my Viper. It may be driven half the week and on the weekends. Weather will still be a concern, just wouldn't feel comfortable with that kind of power and rain. I'll get her out to the track once in a while, believe me.
