Sure sounds reasonable to me. I'd try to squeeze another grand out of the buyer and then I'd sell it either way for 46k or 47k. Good luck.

I don't know, I was thinking that a car with only 15K miles would be closer to $49K, but good luck. Let us know what happens :2tu:

I was thinking the EXACT same thing when I read this thread

great price for a red car.......

Believe it or not, many people prefer red over the other colors for a sports car. Less red Vipers where I am than b/w's.

$46k is a very good offer. I bought my old GTS with 1/3 the miles you have for 3 grand more. I've been shopping for another GTS (red 97 or 98) for the past several months. That's about 1-2k more than what I would expect to see for a stock 97 GTS with those miles.

Just a note: Your car is worth MORE because it is stock. I don't understand a lot of these people who only plan on keeping their viper a year or two and proceed to "rice" them out. This makes it difficult to find a decent GTS in my price range.

That is a really good offer esp given that it's not the B&W combo. I recently sold my 2002 GTS with 17,800 for $53,200 with lots of mods. I'd say take the offer!

CROM,

KERSVPR has an all red 98 GTS he isn't using and it's a beauty ! Best paint shine I've seen to date on any car. He hasn't put insurance on it yet this year, and is more interested in being a "Pool Boy"......check him out, he might let it go ! But then he'll have to get the tattoo on his arm removed !!

46k for 15k Red Car.......nice to get another buck or 2, but seems fair. I don't know...these cars are special- the prices people are selling/paying seems way too low for this type of HP and body style. I see old Vettes, that need a ton of work going for 35k and way up ! I see Porsches with a ton of miles on them selling for 45k and up easily. I don't see the reason why Viper owners need to drop to $35-43k because it has over 10-15k miles on it. We're killing ourselves here, instead of controlling our own market, which isn't very big to begin with.

Totally agree.
If you talk to people that are NOT part of the Viper community, they expect to pay much more for these cars.
But because we're sooo smart, we think we should be able to steal them for so much less than what they should be worth.
So are we really that smart? Apparently not

Of course, this opinion on the low ball selling price on Vipers doesn't apply when we are looking to buy one, correct? Then they are overpriced... :2tu:

Who's going to step up to the plate and buy mine for shall we say...65K? I'll be willing to part with it and do my part to increase Viper resale values.

Thank you!!! I wondered if anyone else realized the obvious. There IS NO OTHER CAR anywhere as exotic, low production numbers, fast or timeless as the GTS is(price wise). We who own these cars owe it to ourselves to control the market of this remarkable vehicle. Furthermore I have watched the market on these cars for years waiting on the market to soften, and I can tell you they have been hovering around mid 40's for a few years now (on the cheapest end of the scale)and why should they be any less??? its not a corvette, or mustang, it is an affordable american legend in its own time. I have friends with Lambos,996 turbos, Lotus Esprit, and other so called exotics and I always get more attention in my Vipers. As time goes on these cars will (I feel) have a true enthusiast following to the like of the 67-69 camaros,70 SS chevelles, and the coveted 65 A/C shelby cobras. I know some of you will laugh but I feel strongly the general public feels the same way about the gen II's as I do.

I'm not trying to start anything. But I see these cars selling for dirt cheap prices quite often. I just want to be one of those people that purchases one for a dirt cheap price. BUT, I am willing to spend extra for a nice car. I agree that the nice examples of these cars should not be let go for the prices I've seen. I'm not looking for a perfect car, I'm looking for one with some miles on it for a good price. In that same sense, I don't feel that a 30k mile viper should be only 2 grand cheaper than one with 10k miles. I purchased my 98 GTS with 5000 miles 2.5 years ago for 49k. I won't pay a couple grand close to that for a car with 6x the miles.

I would also like to note. The people who really depreciate these cars are the young guys out there who put several thousand in crappy mods only to sell them a few months later for a huge loss, usually because they need quick cash and can't afford the cars anymore. Those are the real problem people here. I've found good decent mileage vipers that have been "riced" out. Ive had owners trying to dump these cars on me for the low 30s! The sad thing is these cars would be worth 40s if they were stock and the owners weren't so shady! People do not want poorly cared for, modified cars.

Good thing your not looking for a supra LOL! I could buy low mileage supras over the past 3 or 4 years for WAY less than a (truly) high mileage one now 30k miles then vs. 90k miles now! The reason is simply the same. Very low production car with superb performance (just like the GTS) While I'm on my high VALUE horse...... WHO THE HELL DECIDED 30K MILES IS HIGH ON A CAR (if maintained properly)AS RELIABLE AS THE VIPER??????? I'M SO OVER HEARING THAT IS HIGH MILEAGE!!!!!!!!! thanks for listening to my rant. Now let the prices of our wonderful cars rise! can I get an Amen!

First off I'm not flaming or picking at you. Now I agree with you mostly, but as far as mods go... I remove cats, and install smooth tubes,& filters for reliability reasons and decreased thermal stress on engine. the benefit of additional power is simply a bonus. Adding other tasteful power adders is not necessarily bad if tuned correctly. And not everyone who mods a car beats the sh#$ out of it. I installed a Roe s/c 10lb. kit with w/m dual 3" exhaust, k&n filtercharger kit, etc. etc. and it has not and will not see the track at all. I simply wanted a perfect low mileage exotic car capable of running like it looks even if I don't use it and I can't think of any other car to match its looks or performance for under 69k.

Thanks guys!, they're actually (I forged daytonas) in 20x13 and 20x10 with 345rear 285front. they fit absolutely perfect. I met Vince at SEMA and gave him the measurements from my car to get the first set with the "extreme fit technology" 5" rear lip. Now he's got a lot more options (style wise)with the huge rear lip. They are build to suite but well worth the wait! I personally like the offset and spacing better than HRE's at least that I've had experience with. PM me if you're interested in some.
