Hey guys,
I have been reading the thousands of postings on here for the last week, as I scour the classifieds for the *perfect* viper. I just found a 2000 ACR (with A/C & radio), steel gray no stripes, only 1000 miles, no scratches, etc. for $66,500 firm. This seems like a very good price. BUT, in looking at an ACR at the dealership, i was annoyed with the seatbelts - i can't imagine using those every day. So:
1. Does the ACR also have normal seatbelts and can the 5.harness be removed easily?
Yes the ACR has a normal 3 point system for street use. The 5 point system is normally tucked under and behind the seats and is totally innocuous.
2. If an ACR was the same price as a GTS, is there any reason to choose the GTS?
Not at all. The ACR has awesome BBs wheels and DSP coil over shocks that offer improved handling over the base coupe.
3. When they add the radio back in, is it the same as the one on the GTS with amp etc.?
The option is really an administrative issue as the cars are built with a/c and stereo on the line.
4. Are the tires really much better than the GTS?
They are the same.
5. Does it have ABS in 2000?
No, 2001 was the first year for ABS.
6. Is the extended warranty from Dodge transferable past the 2nd owner?
Don't know!
6. Anything else I'm missing??
Probably quite a bit. Post more questions, get more answers.
The other 2 cars i'm considering:
a local black GTS, beautiful, 2600 miles, 7/100 warranty, $68k
an out of state gray w/stripe, 1400 miles, short shifter, k&n, smooth tubes, borla exhaust (also comes with stock parts), no extended warranty, $65k.
Thanks for any and all advice!
BTW I'm in Austin!
What does BTW mean?
