GTS getting facelift for VOI7...

Are you ready for VOI? With less than 3 weeks to go, here's what our display GTS looks like today.

Anybody else trying to cram in some last minute changes or upgrades? I know there'll be a few people bolting on superchargers

The new color combination should look pretty good. There will be 1 less blue with white stripes GTS in the world.

Hi Tony,

In addition to the paint and interior, the car has a long list of mechanical work also. Have to put on several new parts, including the SC system. Most all of the upgrades on the car are our original development parts and don't look like the finsihed product.

I was going to look at borrowing a car for the display, but decided to go for the facelift on ours last week. If there was time, I would have sent it to Autoform for their street version of the Comp Coupe body.

Hi Mike,
Yes, I had converted the car to side exhaust a year ago and recently switched it back to the rear.
With headers, 3" cats and Borla race mufflers, it sounded bad *** (and loud). I liked the look of the side exhaust too. After a year, it just seemed to be louder than I wanted, so we put the Borla back on.

Hey Sean,
Is this the same car you had with the side exhaust(the system you sold on Ebay)? If so, why did you switch to the rear again? I wanted to get your system, but got home too late and the auction closed on me. I wanted to do the exact same thing, was it too loud?

Speaking of paint.....
Here's the color combo we're going with:
It's pearl red with silver stripes.
The panel was dusty when I took the picture.
What do you think? I was going for something different.

Sean, is your pearl red achieved by a pearl additive to the clear coat, and are the silver stripes added on top of the clear
coat or under it?

I can't answer much about the mixture of the paint, but they painted the silver stripes first, then the color, then cleared, with some sanding taking place along the way. The body shop did this panel first so we could see if we liked it (they weren't too sure when I picked out the colors).

Now that Jason mentions it, the color combo does look similar to BurnR8's avatar:

Looks great...can't wait to see it completed. Very original, Sean. I've only seen one other "real" Viper painted a maroon/burgandy color. It was an RT/10 at the last VOI and was very different, but beautiful also. The silver stripes make that color POP!

We got the car back from the body shop at 6:30 pm yesterday and have started putting it back together.
Still a lot of work left to do to get it ready for VOI.
Had a chance to remove all the prototype SC parts today and replace them with actual production parts (same blower though).
It's starting to come together.

Sean, all I can say is WOW! That car looks great. Are you going to be at the VOI drags or will you bee in Tennessee setting up? I won't be abl;e to make it to VOI but I'll be at the drag races. I'd love to see your car in person. The problem is, it's too clean to drag race. Good luck Sean.

Wow, Sean your car looks great!!! I wish I had the courage to paint my car a totally different color.

It is good to see that you have a great car to play with when you are not at work.

On the SC -- do any of your first shipment to customers have significant engine mods (heads, cam, T&D's, etc.)??? I'm curious to see the gains on a car with 550+ rwhp on motor.

Anthony, Steve (EdmontonGTS) has just such a project underway. TNT heads, cam, rockers, etc. Should be very interesting.

Anthony, Steve will definitely keep the board informed of the developments. I think he's planning on trying to use the standard Roe setup at first (larger injectors), but he's also been investigating some upgrades in the event they're necessary. I know he posted a day or two ago he had talked to Ron Sr. at SVS about a Motec or something, so he'll be watching that situation closely.
