Had my stock shifter cut down 1.5 inches..

I wanted to keep my stock blue shifter but hated how long it was. So took it in to work had it put on a lathe cut it down then had it welded back together. Can't even tell it's been welded above the groove for the boot.

I did the same to mine, although I didn't weld anything. I just cut off about a inch, then machined off the other areas to match the OEM piece. Throws are shorter, but do require a bit more effort. I did this mod for aesthetics and not a performance reason. Plus, my OEM one was a little too abused if you see if carefully on the second picture.

That looks amazing!! looks like it would fit on my 06 FE.

There is a company that offers a shorter version if you don't want to do it yourself. I bought one from them around 5-6 years ago. A search on the site should pull up their name I would suspect.
