Thanks. Number 6 of eleven Roanoke Special Dealer Edition ACR cars. Pictures do it no justice & it gets a ton of attention out in the wild!

Mine was definitely the first to arrive. Ordered 6/24 arrived at dealer 12/5 and arrived home 12/20. Here's some shots of Reliable Transportation arriving: Center band is competition blue

Thanks. It had 5 miles from factory. On Sunday I lucked out with 43 degree sunny weather. So I put another 14 miles on it doing a fuel run. So anxious for the spring so I can complete break in, brake burnishing, etc.

Policy, just wondering how does this car compare on ride quality / liveability vs your GTS.

Did you trade in your GTS ?

Owned the GTS 3.5 years. Had a love/hate relationship with it however it is difficult purchasing the first production year of a new Generation. I did trade it as I get a significant tax credit on a transfer registration in my state. Also the registry figured in my fifteen thousand dollar manufacturer rebate into the transfer which helps when sales tax is 7%

In comparison it's self evident this car is 5 model years newer the moment you sit in it in terms of refinement and development. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the special editions are basically GTC cars with the extreme ACR components added on. So it wasn't as drastic a change as I suspected. Actually had carpet, floor mats, same 12 volt battery and a 12 speaker stereo, none of which I expected. It's still a street legal race car though. The brakes are much bigger and require burnishing, the tires are a step above slicks and the suspension is stiff. I love the Alcantara interior for a change and the stance on this thing is significantly more aggressive. Got it with 5 factory miles and only have 43 on the odometer now so to be fair I need to get through the break in procedure to adequately compare. Very satisfied with the decision so far, it's really an incredible machine.

You made a awesome choice since the ACR cars will for SURE dramatically appreciate in the future, since they are documented historical record holders.

The gen5 standard models will not appreciate long term and will not hold their value anywhere (or if at all) near as well as the ACR will over a 20-25 year period.

You, and all the others buying the ACR made a very very wise investment, trust me.

Three things determine collectability and LONG term price appreciation 1) low production 2) any documented historical significance and 3) the most important is---demand
/desire ability at the time of production/release.

The standard models might have relative low production but ZERO historical significance ( except for being problematic ) and most importantly there was almost NO demand at the time of production/release.

If a low production car sits unsold on the car dealer lot for long periods ( the standard gen5 Viper might have held the record for not selling/worst selling---1st car ever to have window sticker price dropped ever) that means that if no one wanted it at the time of production/release, surely NO one will be fighting over it 25 or 30 years from now.

BUT the ACR will appreciate dramatically. Guaranteed. It is a much lower production specific model, it has huge historical significance for holding world records, and most importantly-- the ACR sold fast and demand was super high. Every dealer I spoke to said the ACRs flew out the door. They all told me the ACR's had zero time on the sales floor. Most were sold before they were even displayed.

Everyone (now and 25 years from now) wants to own a historical record breaking, ultra low production model that in addition also looks as outrageous and eyeball popping as the 1970's super bird.

The ACR is a car that will appreciate dramatically once the 16-18 year old kid turns 40-45 and has become successful and says to himself I wanted the outrageous ACR when I was a kid.

I can also tell you for sure that the ACR will also NOT Depreciate much Short Term either, unlike The standard gen5 models that lost huge value very very quickly.

The ACR will hold residual value very well short term, and long term will appreciate, but that appreciation will occur 20-25 years from now and then further down the road will then greatly accelerate in price and pop in value once the ACR is 30-35 years old.

Policy, just very curious.....

I am wondering, What did the dealer give you ($) for the trade in on your GTS ? and how many mies did the GTS have at time of trade in ?

and also wondering if any engine durability concerns on your GTS had any sway in your decision in letting it go ?

Just curious.

I did all recalls and campaigns on my GTS and it never burned one drop of oil. I was fortunate to get a retail trade in price on mine because I had the 15k coupon. Check it out at roanoke, only put 8200 miles on it in 42 months of ownership.

Krate- I agree with u so much that I would honestly purchase a second one if they weren't sold out and if I had the space!

Yes, I saw your trade in.

They have an ACR appears to be identical to yours still listed. Is that your car and they did not take down/ update their listings as sold or is that a similar ACR ? the VIN on their listing is 500206

Not sure, need to check. I know him and Tomball got 11 each. I think the 1:28 is cool. If they did red wheels instead it would be **** as hell imo, kinda like the old voodoo.

Check out this new pic of my ass 8-p

U still have Gen V keys?

Yes,still have the keys/car but I am not driving it much.

My kids are getting older, I am getting older, and I am so tired of rowing gears and puling a clutch. I actually drive my 2014 Corvette NON Z06 base automatic trans convertible daily.
Love the Viper but as I get older I am getting cranky.

About 3 weeks ago during the holidays I went to Security Dodge in Amityville NY to see the Y'Orange ACR they had in the showroom floor. Stunning car, but after looking at the bare trunk interior, I got the feeling that its a rough ride, and I just cannot justify upgrading to more NVH ( noise, vibration, harshness).

I was actually pondering if I would trade the Viper in for the new Mercedes S550 sedan. I know it sounds nuts but I am getting tired. I lost 80 pounds since May of 2015 so I fit a lot better in the Viper now.

I have mixed feelings. I like the Huracan, but the really want the convertible Huracan, but as you may know, the convertible has much less room in interior legroom and the seats do not recline the same amount as the coupe. This is because the top takes up space behind the seats in the convertible. I am 6'2".

looked at the McLauren since there is a dealer very close by, but I have mixed feelings about spending that kind of money on a car that does not have the brand recognition of Ferrari or Lambo.

I bought my Viper used with a huge price drop. I also know that the price will not drop on the ACR's so even if I regain some vigor and energy, I know that I will not be able to pick one up depreciated, even to have as a toy or show piece.

I think I am waiting to see the new platform redone Nissan GT-R , the new Toyota Supra, and the new C8 Corvette with the alleged promised rear engine.

kind of just hanging on to see what products come out in the next few years. It looks promising apparently.

Congrats on the weight loss. I definitely don't DD the snake. I have my Granturismo Sport for that. And with a 2+2 my four year old actually fits in the back. Exhaust note is really nasty in sport mode. Then in automatic it's a GT car. Feels sturdy and comfy. I like corvette but don't like seeing them everywhere.
