I saw the pigtail in the glove box but what to do? No obvious place to plug into mirror or way to open it? Has anyone found where it plugs in/how to access it? Pictures appreciated. Thanks much!
Has anyone installed their radar detector using the pigtail?

I installed mine and found the instructions that came with the pigtail to be incorrect. They stated to remove the cover from below the mirror to find the plug. My plug was taped around the mirror bracket.
I could see the plug but could not access it without cutting the cloth tape holding it in place.
Once I cut the tape, it was a breeze.

Im curious how this works with certain detector cords.
I have : https://www.escortradar.com/limited-edition-passport-9500ix/index.php
It has the coiled cord with silence/memory button; and has the plugin similar to a landline phone cord
I dont want to hack this thing up; but have not heard back from ******.........so I am sporting the cable hanging across the dash for now

Is it maroon at base of mirror?
I bought this cord from Amazon:

I cut it to about a foot in length and spliced it to the pigtail supplied with the car. I didn't use the inline fuse with the Amazon cable as I assumed the power cord in the mirror is fused.

Think we found it ... thanks. Picture for reference. Cover plate was tricky to remove but somehow it came off .. getting it back in place ... lol

On the other side of the "oh $hit" handle, there is a key hole. I imagine if you push that, the glove box will open. Can anyone confirm? Looks like the glove box is in the same location, just no handle like on the Gen 3/4 cars.

Yes, there is a glove box. There is about enough room to put a pack of gum inside.

Confirned - it exists- that button opens it and you can fit a pack of gum inside!
Admittedly I got an umbrella too - always keep one in a car.

btw: we attached the pig tail to the piece we bought at http://invisicord.com/ ... used it to connect the radar detector on our mustang. worked like a charm. Thanks for all your help.

I used the invisicord and Blendmount on my 2010. came without pigtails LOL

I realize this is an old thread but I'm trying to do the same thing now and am not understanding how to do it. Are you able to just plug the radar detector cord into the exposed "pigtail" in the pic or do I need to somehow splice into something? Sorry for the confusion and thanks in advance for any who can assist!

Awesome, thanks ViperSmith! I understand now... the "pigtail" comes with the car. I'll need to take a look in the glovebox to make sure I have that. Looks pretty easy from there.

I had the dealer install mine before I took delivery. Looks like I could have done it with the pigtail included with the car but I wanted them to do it.
