Have prices on the \'92,\'93,\'94 RT\'s bottomed out yet?

I have been toying with the idea of picking up an early RT- my thinking is that if the prices have truely bottomed out finally, then in 8-9 years(when my daughter needs $ for College) the value should have gone up enough to pay for her education. Who here thinks that a $40,000 car today could be back up to $60-70k by then?

Conversly, if I put the $40k in some type of fixed rate security at say 5% I would have a guaranteed $60k in 8 years, but would not have experienced the joy of 2 Viper ownership ;)

Wife thinks I'm nuts, but what's new.

I hate to say it, but your wife is right. Don't think they will go up that much, maybe a little (few K's)

I don't think you will see the early Gen I appreciate for at least another 10 years.

I don't see Gen 1's going much lower than $35,000 for a nice one. Ones with some mileage (over 30,000 miles) and ones truly "used" will go low $30,000 and or high $20,000 range.

Personally, I don't see them appreciating for some time...maybe another 10 years seems about right...I don't plan on losing money at all.

I'd like to think that the Gen 1 cars will be worth the most one day just the first generations of any car i.e. 53-55 Vettes, etc. Sidepipes on the early Vipers are awesome in my opinion.

Who knows...maybe 25 years from know they will be bringing six figures on Ebay just like Hemicars and Six Pack cars bring! Wait and see...I plan on holding onto mine forever...

Your nutz ;) Don't gamble on her education. Put it into "some type of fixed rate security". This way, you won't know what you missed!

I think a gen one might go for $60k in a decade plus, but by then McQuarter pounders wil run $50.99 and gas will be hovering at $17.549/gal.

If you get a perfect speciman at around $30k today and keep it perfect condition for ten years, then you might be able to sell her off for a profit in ten years. But I see your odds of hitting a $30k lotto to be about the same over the next ten years...

Your only chance of turning a noticable profit with a Viper is getting a GT2, a team Orcea race car, or maybe even a Final Edition, but they all cost slightly more than a GenI...
