Thanks for the suggestion but the posts are on a public forum. Use of the ignore list does not stop the posts from appearing on the thread and being read by others. One of the things that has changed is the failure by some to take into consideration the reputation of the VCA and the impact posts can have on same.

Boy, you fellas all stick together. One covers for the other.

still waiting for my accusatory "hate filled and threating ***" to be posted .

Why is everyone so afraid to find out who the REAL TROLL is......( name rhymes with ColoHyper) who is sending all members away with his false accusatory posts and derogatory insults and nasty comments.

And you then wonder why so many people have left the VCA forms and have instead happily joined ViperForums.net and ViperAlley.com ?

Now I know

I respectfully request that Coloviper is be counseled by the moderators, unless he is one of the moderators himself.

May I make a suggestion? Why don't you bring your "unique" style over to the alley and let the guys have some fun with "fresh meat"?

I'd change the subject matter back to the OP, if I may....

As an old-school viper guy, my answer is No. The forums here still represent the best of VIPER. ..... As with all forums, there's tons of BS here; just sift through it to find what you want.

Sad how this thread has degenerated into garbage as well.

Thanks for defending me Mr. Bobpantax !!! so glad that at least some members understand that this is everyone's forum, not solely a forum for just a few (elitists).

Fresh Meat over here (me) has owned two Vipers since 1997. Thank you very much.

This forum was the subject of conversation with a VCA member, who is held in high regard by the Forums and SRT just yesterday, at our local VCA meeting.
He is a true professional in all ways and has helped out so many people there is no way to count them. However, these are my thoughts exclusively.

We have enthusists with thousands of posts. Some really know their stuff and are very helpful to others.

Some are just disruptive and should take their toxicity to another forum. (Admittedly the problem is sometimes from a member)

Now that VCA supports itself, with assistance from vendors and individuals, a nominal fee for enthusiasts seems quite reasonable for being on the forum. If the enthusiast has a Viper, but doesn't chose to join the VCA, maybe they would have a different fee. The VCA will strive to offer more to Viper owners over time, a prime example being the VPA.

I see nothing wrong with requiring a fee that might be able to be as low as a Car Magazine subscription. Everyone wins!

I was not defending you. I think that you need to tone down your posts and stick to the subject of the OP. The subject is " Have the discussions on the VCA gone to hell?" This thread shows how fast that can happen these days.

I feel that my posts are just fine, thank you very much. Yes, the subject is correctly , as you say " have the discussions on the VCA gone to hell?"

Mr. Bobpantax, please define "gone to hell" as used in the title of the thread. I believe that " gone to hell" leaves a wide area of discussion and is broadly defined.

Specifically, I feel that I have been treated like I was sent to hell at times by posting on this forum.

Only the OP can define his true intentions of his ideas related to starting this thread and as such why he phrased the title as he did.

Would you agree with me ?

Still waiting for Mr. Coloviper to post his PM's to me.

I believe that this conversation is in line with the topic of " Have the discussions on the VCA gone to Hell?" because it is my opinion that many senior members use criticism and derogatory personal attacks which is counter productive towards good quality discussion of any VCA topic posted , regardless of its subject.

Specifically if a member/enthusiast/etc disagrees with a post they should feel free to IGNORE it BUT NOT to attack it.

Again, this is why so many people now post on ViperAlley.com and ViperForums.net instead of here on the VCA site.

Shame on those who state they are "well regarded veteran members" but who secretly TROLL and destroy this site by insulting and pushing away anyone who does not "get in line" with the agenda.

you know who you are......

Looks like I am NOT afraid, am I ?

Op, it is not you. Look what happened to this thread. As a new owner 7 years ago I concluded viper owners fit three categories: a) racers, b) posers and c) daily drivers and there was usually light hearted back and forth between them. Now most posts seem to bash SRT, bash VCA, or posters bashing each other with little relation to the original post. It is getting harder and harder to separate the wheat from the chaff. I know many on the forum so I pick and choose who and what to read. With that; however, I have learned a lot on this forum and thank those who make positive contributions and share their expertise and experience.

Mr. Bobpantax, please define "gone to hell" as used in the title of the thread. Can you please explain to me SPECIFICALLY what the OP is saying when he/she uses those specific terms. Can you tell me what OP was thinking when they wrote that in the title. Your reply above seems to indicate that you do since you are telling me to "stick to the subject" as if you know what "gone to hell" implies. If you feel you know better than me how the OP defines "gone to hell" , please let me know. You are an Attorney , correct ?

Thank you in advance for your kind reply.

If you do not understand the meaning of the initial post, then it does not make much sense that you posted on this thread at all. So I think that your posts are part of what the OP is referring to. Thank you for providing the example.

I believe that my conversation is in line with the topic of " Have the discussions on the VCA gone to Hell?" because it is my opinion that many senior/veteran members use criticism and derogatory personal attacks to squelch opposing opinion which is counter productive towards good quality discussion of any VCA topic posted, regardless of its subject, and as a result of these insults and attacks, threads becomes derogatory in nature and not subject related in nature . I think I have been very clear about this. If people ( specifically veteran members) would not insult/attack opposing opinion, which is a common mainstay here on the VCA forum, threads would never flow off topic. ( use YOUR own quoted text above as an example of what I am talking about--)

Specifically if a member/enthusiast/etc disagrees with a post they should feel free to IGNORE it and even REBUT it, BUT NOT to attack it.

To PROVE MY POINT Mr. Bobpantax, you yourself did NOT reply to my last post asking for an answer to my question... please define " gone to hell" as defined by the OP.
I was VERY specific in my previous post asking this question.

Instead, you have decided that " if you (I) do not understand the meaning of the initial post then it does not make much sense you (I) posted". And without first clarifying your interpretation of the thread subject thereby again you YOURSELF are causing this thread to become a debate about who understands the OPs post by implying that I am ignorant. An Insult. I never stated that I can read the OPs mind . I had asked YOU to define the OPs intention based upon the OP's specific wording in his title. Next is your derogatory statement " Thank you for providing the example "
MORE OBJECTIVE proof that you, Mr. Bobpantax are the cause of subjects going off topic by responding with derogatory comments instead of factual response/information and instead implications that I am ignorant.

Again, if members would NOT insult with replies /posts THEN THREADS WOULD NEVER GO OFF TOPIC. VERY SIMPLE CONCEPT !!!!!

This is why my post is ON topic and so many members are so unaware what is the causation of threads going off topic. The ANSWER is WRITTEN IN THE SENTENCE ABOVE.

Again, INSULTS, DERGATORY COMMENTS, BELITTELING, ATTACKING , DISCREDITING posts causes threads to go off topic because the Topic is no longer the subject....The topic becomes a discussion about the insult, attack, DISCREDIT or counterattack or counter insult and then the ensuing back and forth become the topic.

VERY SIMPLE CONCEPT.

I believe the above statements are in line with the topic.

No need to thank me for helping you fellas in figuring out why there is so much off topic nasty bickering here, my services are always provided free of charge.

Yes, I am NOT afraid of the big boys ( with big toys) ... bring it on in the OCTOGON !!

As a proud VCA member for many years now as most of you know, it seems lately that many of the replies to threads have really gone down hill. By this I mean there are numerous replies to honest and informative threads lately that end up diverting from the subject quickly (hi jacked) or attacks on peoples integrity. They seem to go on back and fourth a lot lately. It also seems to come a lot from newbies or enthusiasts too. Not to count them out as we all started out in the Viper excitement at sometime, but it gets really old and almost not worth it anymore to place a thread that is either informative or to gain positive information from other owners and have all the diverting remarks that have nothing to do with the original thread. Is this just me seeing this lately or do others that have been on here for awhile see the same thing? Thanks and remember to stay on subject for this one at least.

I agree with you.

One example that exemplifies your point are some of the responses to posts made by Jack B. Jack has been and continues to be a great contributor to this site and to Viper owners in general. He has documented (extensively) his Viper experience going back many years. Be it on the strip, modifications, DIY's, technical posts backed by his direct experience he has been great for the community. However, I've seen too many responses from folks attacking his credibility and responses that are shear ignorance. I can only chuckle when I read a ignorant response to Jack regarding his mods for his GenV. :D

I apologize to Jack for singling him out but his Viper experience and posts here over the years has been a huge help to me and this is one example that stands out based on your observation.

Trolls ****.

My post was intended to solicit a robust response from you. The strategy succeeded. What I suggest is that you step back and take a breath. You are the new person here. The VCA Forum culture is easy to understand and fit into. Your posts seem to suggest that you think the existing, long time members and posters should adjust to you. That is not the was any large group works. There is an existing culture in the VCA. Try observing it; learning about it; and fitting into it. That culture may involve some male subculture joking and testing but it is a culture that also allows open and strident debate on many subjects in the non car sub forums. And despite that strident debate, we all remain friends.
