This might already be known, but if not, should help some here. I just received a catalog from SCE Gaskets--1-888-427-5381. I called them and asked about Viper head gaskets. They offer varying thickness copper head gaskets for Gen 1 and Gen 2's. Hope this helps. Price I got was between 120 and 160 for a pair. John

Didn't the copper gaskets require you to have the heads/blocks grooved for an o ring?

Yes.
A stainless steel o-ring in the block and a corresponding receiver groove in the head that is at least as deep as the o-ring is "proud" from the deck surface of the block.

yes, run these without an oring and you will leak!! You can just o-ring the head without a reciever groove. I was going to do this when I ported my heads, but decided to go with OEM gasket instead.
