Help.... My dealer is telling me to get a second opinion

My 93rt 10 (59K) has been problem free until this summer? I had the dealer flush the cooling system as normal maintenance. After the flush the car ran hot. Ok, back to the dealer for burping. After a 5k road trip the heater core started leaking inside the car which emitted an antifreeze smell in the car and leaking antifreeze at inside the engine compartment near the rear #10 cylinder. The leaking antifreeze was being burned off the engine which made a nice white smoke plume! Ok back to the dealer. The dealer replaced the thermostat, thermostat gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, the heater core, all heater hoses and all lower gaskets (1,010.00). Ok, picked the car up again. Noticed the car was still burning off antifreeze at the rear near the heater (#10 cylinder). Back to the dealer, was told that leaky hose clamp everything tightend and ok. Ok, on Friday evening, picked her up and drove 150 miles and noticed antifreeze smell inside the car and smoke coming from beneath the hood. Burning off leaky antifreeze again near the rear of the block near the heater core. Car is not running hot, but definitely leaking antifreeze! It appears to leak more when driven hard! My 5 star dealer is telling me to take it somewhere else and get a second opinion because it may be a head gasket problem?

First of all does anyone have a clue of what could be causing this. And also, has anyone had Roanoke work on their car and what has the service been like? I'm currently going to a dealer in Southern Wisconsin (Sauk City).

Any advice would be helpful.

Holy smokes,,,,, an auto dealer that can't figure out if it's a head gasket or not?????? That's an easy pressure test,,,, go to Roanoke, they like vipers!!!

If they're telling you to get a second opinion its because they have been guestimating with your car and money..GOTTA GO TO TATORS...

$1,000 in part and labor they threw at it while not taking the time to check and see what the problem was is absurd.

Take it to Roanoke. I changed the thremostat and cross over gaskets myself. Any experienced mechanic should be able to handle it.
I may be a good idea to install new hoses all around n' Upgrade to newer style hose clamps. Roe Racing has a set of hoses and clamps for gen 1 cars. Upper hose has a bleeder valve on it for easier burping. Clean the engine to get rid of the old coolant smell. I think your upper radiator hose is leaking.

It not the radiator hose but the large hose that runs off the thermostat on the drivers side.

My early (last vin #00048)'93 had a thermostat hose that was too short and wouldn't clamp up properly. This was evident early on milage wise. Seems like if this was your problem it would be very noticable by a technician however. Around 7,ooo miles I had to have a major engine rebuild due to a poor gasket seal at the water pump; anit-freeze got dumped into the crankcase big time. I remember having to tell the "technician" what the service manual said on how to remove the engine, that the u-joint straps couldn't be reused, etc, etc. What should be apparent to a technician sometimes isn't; very exasperating. Wish I had a good one close. My 96 and 98 both need the 998 recall and I won't take mine in due to lack of expertise.
