I was told that the rubber trim/seal around the exterior of the windshield is only available WITH A NEW WINDSHIELD!!!

Can anyone confirm this?

If so what's the fuzzy logic behind this epic decision?

New Viper Windshields come with the moulding already installed on the edge. I have the same moulding available in bulk, however, it must be placed onto windshield prior to installation in car.
email me with any Questions

Waitaminutehere- that black rubber trim on the outside is coming loose from my windshield and lifting up. Are you telling me that my Dodge dealer will replace the entire windshield glass just because that rubber trim piece wasn't glued down well enough? That doesn't sound right.

I'll get me a tube of black polysulfide and fix it myself before letting anyone replace glass to fix a trim problem. That just seems way too drastic.

Actually Dodge does a very good job sealing the windshield. We had to remove the roof of the car and almost everytime this is done on any GTS, the seal gets damaged because of the good job originally putting it on.

Now the seal is torn and an attempt was made to bond it back down but at 140mph the other day at Pocono, is was flapping and coming up.

No a dealer will not replace a windshield just for the seal but Dodge SHOULD SELL IT AS A SEPERATE PART!!!
