If you are overheating in 120F ambient air temps while at crusing speed a lower temp t-stat will not help you at all.

You need a better radiator. Call:

I installed a Heavy Duty Aluminum double core radiator which increased cooling capacity, a up-graded cooling fan module (standard on 98 & newer Vipers), a 180 degree thermostat, and two bottles of water wetter. This combination has worked to stabilize and control excessive water temperatures for me. I bought my parts through Hennessey Motorsports, however, I am sure you could get them from "The PartsRack" or other venders as well. There is no problem fitting them to a 96 GTS, however you might want to be sure and specify for the 93 R/T. I suggest you contact Jon Brobst at [email protected] for further information. Hope this helps. (JD)

I have a 93 also, but first, do you have the A/C?
If you do, you have 2 fans in it already, and they work when the A/C is on.
I also wanted to know more about cooling , so I called JonB, he suggested if anything, to get the 3 body aluminium upgrade radiator. A lot of people out in Arizona and Texas get them installed due to high temps there.

And I agree with Marv S....a low temp t-stat will not help you at all....

Try also to flush your cooling system, but when refilling it use distilled water only, 4 bottles of water-wetter and one anti-rust bottle. I have this done to my car and runs cooler now. Don't forget to burp the car again for about 3 run cycles too, and fill with distilled water. I hope this helps you.....call JonB!
