They used to be VERY big into Johnny Lightning diecast (biggest selections anywhere), however I couldn't find a single one on display the last time I visited.

Otherwise they are mostly do-it-yourself home decorating and hobby stuff. Their toy/model section is usually one aisle, maybe two (in a store with 100+). Be sure to check it out either way!

Hobby Lobby is very much like a Michal's (mostly a craft/decorating store). Usually has 2-3 aisles of toys, but the diecast is now typically in the front by the registers (a small island about 3' x 3' x 3'). Very few small scale (mostly Johnny Lightning).

I went into one here in STL for the first time since they are listed as a distributor of JL. They didn't have any. I was disappointed as I was hoping they'd have racks and racks of Calendar Girl Vipers - I guess I was dreaming. If you like to build models your store will probably have a nice selection. The search goes on.

I pretty much discounted Hobby Lobby as an arts and craft store a long time ago. Although, now you've all got my curiosity piqued. Guess I'll have to stop by one this weekend to check it out.

Anyone need a miniature bench with geese carved into the back while I'm there?

Well, I went to the new store on Friday, and on a scale of 1-10 on the "Impresssed" factor, put me down for a one. They only had 2 rows of model cars and all were the DIY kits. No Hotwheels (matchbox, maisto, etc) style cars of any scale. I saw one DIY Viper for $13.99 which is the same Wal-Mart sells them for. I asked an employee to make sure I wasn't in the wrong section but she said the only "pre-assembled" model vehicles they sold were airplanes. But they did seem to have a lovely assortment of fake flowers :bonkers:
