Saw this Ford GT 5.0L commerical the other day:

Sure hope when the GEN V comes out, they create some heart pounding commercials to go with it. The one above is actually pretty good.

i think the marketing dept is asleep. havent seen a viper in any advertisement for a VERY, VERY LONG TIME.

i know this part is a local decision, but i havent seen a viper at our local auto show since somewhere around 1997.

Ford has a nice commercial; however, the Viper sells itself. Why spend money producing a top ad when all you have to do is see and hear it.

You may see it a Dodge vehicle lineup commercial but I can't see them featuring it. This type of car has a very specialized market and is produced in limited quantities. Would not be very cost effective. The purpose of advertising is to increase sales which in turn, will hopefully increase production and increase cash flows. That probably won't happen due to the type of vehicle, the price tag, and the current state of our economy.

We were killing some time before dinner at Canyons on Sunrise Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale so we went to the local Ford Dealer Maroone Ford (Autonation) on US1 and saw a new Shelby GT500 on the showroom floor in a sinister grey color, with matching wheels, it stickered for $50,000.00.
It also had a market adjustment sticker with some more BS for $5,000.00 more or $55,000.00 total.

Next to it was a silver with blue stripes "Shelby GT500KR" at $82,000.00 with a sticker that said not street legal.

I've watched that commercial about 10 times so far!:headbang:

I owned a couple of 5.0 Mustang years ago. Nothing really 'special' about them - pretty much dime-a-dozen cars, but they were damn fun to drive and cheap to mod!

Being as I pretty much hate my DD '09 Cobalt SS at this point, I may find myself back in a 5.0 soon!:D

I just hope Dodge releases a Gen V. Can anyone remember anything exciting being released by Dodge lately?

I like the challenger , the charger 300C and there trucks . I have always owned dodge trucks and havn't had issues with any of them . I'm looking at buying a 2010 Dodge Diesil truck this year .They new ones are suppose to be really good trucks .

I think it would be a good idea to put the Viper in a commercial doesn't have to be a stand alone Viper commercial .It would be good for the Company to have your Halo vehicle appear in amongst a general Dodge commercial . The way Chev always has the Vette in with there Chevy commercials . Don't think it would cost to much more to drive up some intrest in the product by doing this . How many of us have been asked ( Do they still make Vipers ? )

There won't be a Gen V Viper so there won't be a Gen V Viper commercial.

I disagree with the ENTHUSIAST above.

Here's the best car commerical of all time. Maybe they just need to build THAT car again?

Ford making a 400+hp from a n/a 5.0 should do a number to the GM cars. Wonder why they didn't use a Mustang with a posi for the burnout? Yah, I like the GT500.

I nearly bought a Jeep SRT8, but got such a good deal on a Hemi Ram that I bough it instead. I like the Challenger SRT8s and when you get Macedo motorsports to add a TS supercharger kit (looks like a GT500 style) you have a ride that makes ZR1s scared.

I still prefer my GTS bodied Vipers #1.

Ted;

That is a standard Ford GT 5.0L in the commercial. It has GT500-like rims on it, which are optional rims on the 2011s.

Commercials are NOT for the Viper enthusiast. It is for the potential enthusiast that is on the fence about a Viper, as well as those that want to go to the dealership to see a Viper and come out with an impulse buy Neon SRT-4 or something like that. It get's people in the dealerships.

Despite what others think, NOT all sales of the Viper come easily based upon Ring Performance, which means absolutely nothing to me. New car (GEN V) will need to resurect excitement. Again, it is not the only game in town, like in 1992. It has to compete against used exotics that have depreciated enough to be in that $100K category. At $100K, it is a whole different animal.

GEN V Viper will need what ever advantage it can get and take.

Wow!! Talk about building excitement and getting your blood boiling. That video hd me itching to get the ones out. Pure adrenaline there!!:2tu:

I did like the advertisement that Dodge had using the SSG viper in it. And I agree with the person who said that they should do a video with multiple Dodge vehicles. Shoot, why not just make one with the SRT lineup in it? Show them on some nice highway runs and then mix in some runs at a road course showing what they were really made for. Mmmmmm. More dollar bills would fine their way out of my wallet. :2tu:

Got to admit, the new 2011 Mustang GT(411hp) and the new Mustang GT 500(550hp.) are pretty Bad Ass.for less than 50 large.Try are no Viper or ZR1,but still very cool.May trade my F 250 4x4 for one for a DD.

Gen V will not happen. You need to live in the real world not fantasy land. BTW, I'm a current Viper OWNER of 13 years and counting Mr. VCA snob from Loonie land.

...not to mention the fact that all of the 2010's are sold and there are no plans to build 2011's - and maybe not anything past that either, so why would they advertise it anyway?:dunno:

Wish that were still the case. The dismal sales numbers of the past two years say otherwise (and that's with the early 2009 employee pricing and the late 2009 financing incentives). Look at BJ Motors, $10,000 off new 2009 ACR's and they have a bunch for sale.

Economy has nearly killed the auto industry and that's why the Government did bail outs with lotsa Tax dollars. Last year I bought a 2008 Ram for about 60% because of the economy. This year that same truck in a 09 is going for $43,000 again.

Bad autosales is the economy. Gee, if the economy picks up again maybe they'll make a SRT10 Challenger and a 2012 Viper.

Gotta think positive. We're going to be getting some Fiat designed cars next year and with Toyota having so many recalls maybe Dodge will do well financially?

How has that worked out for them (Dodge)? They barely sold 1500 in 2008, even fewer in 2009 and 2010. Great marketing strategy.

I was going to post this one as well but you beat me to the punch. Hopefully Dodge marketing will take notes and inspiration when looking at this commercial!!
Pour Some Sugar On Me from Def Leppard would have been a good second choice as far as background song goes :)

Oh, better check out the Viper ACR-X "Fully Uncoiled..Adrenaline Junkies Wanted" 2 page Blk, White and Red Glossy Dodge advetisement on pages 52 and 53, in the Spring 2010 edition of Motor Trend Classic magazine.

As for a Gen5...I'm not optimistic, but if there is one, you can bet the ranch Dodge will advertise it.
