I went to go look at a few Vipers local to me, but realized I won't be able to live with the coupe with the stock seat height. I'm 6'4", and it's hard for me to look out the front window. My business partner let me drive his 04 Conv't to the dealerships, and while the seating position is high I can live with it(With the top down.)
I had my heart set on a coupe, but unless the lowering kit for the seats makes a huge diff. I won't be able to live with it.

If anyone has the kit installed in Houston, TX and doesn't mind me sitting in their car please let me know. I can meet you anywhere, anytime.

Thanks!
Chris

I know what you mean as I am 6' 1" and looking out my new coupe is not real comfortable. Call Hennessey Motorsports in Houston as he may have a car with lowered seats and he can also do the install for you. Many replies to follow Im sure on this one.

I'm sorry, I don't live in your area, but wait till you've tried it before pulling the trigger, 2" kit transformed the car for me.

First time I test fit myself in a Viper, my girlfriend said I looked like I was about to cry.:omg: I was so disapointed that I loved the car and didn't fit. Thats the first time I came on here, and found out about the 2" lowering kit. I went ahead and bought without trying it first but it worked perfectly. I'm 6'2" with a long torso and short legs.:D

That's good news, hopefully I can find someone with the kit locally to make my decision a little bit easier. I would purchase blind, but would hate to end up with a car I can barely fit in. I'm currently in a Lotus Exige, and while it's harder to get in/out of I fit a bit better(Surprising considering how small it looks)

one thing too is that the 08/09's I don't think the 2"kit works or is safe for some reason... I'm 6-2 with a 34" inseam and although at lights etc. it is a bit of a strain, for the most part it's fine and you live with it knowing that you're driving one of if not the baddest fastest car money can buy and the bang for the buck is unheard of. also, makes the z06 look like a Kia:)

Can anyone else confirm the lowering kit doesn't work on the 08's??
I need to be sure I fit with a helmet on as well.

People here have put 2" in 08's. You have to move something mounted under there, but it's been done.
Not as easy as gen 3 but worth the extra effort.
1" would work more easily, yet I'd do the 2". Find a gen 3 with the 2" drop and see if it's worth it to you. My $0.02.

I have an 09 coupe with a 2" Northwind Engineering lowering kit and it works great. Two things need to be done. 1 unscrew module from bracket under seat and slide it under the mounting bracket w/out the screws. It will fit snug so it will not move. 2 you need to mark the airbag sensor as to where it sits in the farthest rear seat position and then attach it to the frame rail in that exact location with tie straps and or screws and you are ready to go. People make a big deal about it but it took me two hours to complete. I love the new amount of headroom. keep in mind that this is a fixed position seat lowering kit. It sets it back in second to the last position so you can still recline the seat some. I am 6'2" and my head hit the roof before I did this.

I knew someone had done it, and it wasn't hard. Hopefully more will learn of it, so others could be helped into a Viper like me.:headbang:
