Did not see any threads specifically on how to fix a headliner on a GEN II hardtop. My top is being fixed and resprayed due to damage caused in shipping by FedEx. While I'm redoing it, I would like to fix the areas of the liner that are sagging...mostly on passenger side. I know about 3M Headliner Adhesive, but not sure what is involved in removing and reattaching the headliner.

Thanks very much.:2tu:

I used to do upholstery and the "velvet sagging" headliners were such a pain that I refused to 'fix' them. The material stretched when I pulled it back and then wouldn't fit the top any longer etc. I would only replace headliners after a couple of bogus "elc-cheapo" repairs.

I suggest that you buy some new 'velvet' and redo the headliner. Use a heatgun to heat the material and form it to shape.
