Imagine what the 08 can do with more power, better rear diff., etc. Looks like an exciting year for racing with the Snake!!

Unfortunately we will have to wait until the actual year 2008 to see how the 08 Viper does...since the season starts in 30 days or so and it seems production cars will not be ready until mid-season at the earliest.
Dodge can I have one to dragrace around the country ?
I promise to show the car BONE STOCK running in the 10's 1/4 mile
looks like the answer is no. they gave the pace car duties to the corvette again.

Heck, I would love to see them take the Manufacturer's Championship in the World Challenge Series -----------------they barely missed it this year with the great running of all the privateers. Just think what this motor, with a bit of factory support, could do?
Remember that Scotty B. White had to pole at the runoffs even after an extremely late and inappropriate call from SCCA added 140 lbs to the car , besides a restrictor. Yet, superb driving by Cindi Lux almost took the win ( she ended up second ). I believe Pace Car duties at Nationally televised venues, are, in fact, purchased positions.

You are correct, they are part of a larger overall marketing campaign/budget. It usually includes signage in and around the event, local marketing and a LARGE tv sponsorship usually involving purchasing the majority (if not all) of the tv breaks. This will give said car maker exclusivity in the event and on tv. I do not see Daimler/Chrysler expending that much coin to buy out GM. Oh, one more thing the incumbent advertiser has the right of first refusal so GM would have to decide to NOT do it before Daimler could even think about it.
