The challenge will be VOI attendance. I suspect there are some that could be on the fence that will choose not to put in for this one because they aren't planning to go to Dallas. Personally, I am okay with that, as it *should* filter out some of the speculators that won't roll an $800 set of dice on a car they may not be able to purchase for resale.

I planned a vacation at Myrtle Beach a LONG time ago so I can't make VOI8. I guess I'll wait for a yellow coupe (with black stripes)

I AGREE, THIS WILL EASE UP ON THE SPECULATORS. AT LEAST THIS WAY THE CARS WILL END UP IN THE HANDS OF PEOPLE WHO WANT TO OWN ONE. I HOPE THEY STICK TO THE RULES! THIS PROGRAM GOT MY FAMILY SIGNED UP TO ATTEND VOI8.

Make a Yellow Coupe and I'll be there!
This one, even though I am a huge advocate for a Yellow Viper, doesn't
trip my trigger!

My odds are looking really good! Where are all the "Yellow Freaks"?

Is everybody being secretive about trying for the VCA SRT or will all the real interest start when the mailings are received?

COME ON JOIN THE EXCITEMENT!!!!!

That car at that price is not that special. The wheels are horrible. Plus, you have to jump through hoops to even get a chance to over-pay for it.

I've got concerns about a $90 SRT. Then, if you pass you lose your VOI registration $$$. Is that right?
I think the idea is that if you are serious about the car, they want you in Dallas to take delivery. They don't want 800 people signing up for this one (which was about how many signed up for the SRT Ram) without some skin in the game. That truly does **** out most of the speculators that are just planning to resell it anyway. Interestingly enough, we have a gentleman (VCA member) who is interested in getting one for himself, and some other VCA members are entering on his behalf to try and make sure he gets one (not a single person in Kansas City got a VCA Ram, and roughly 30 of us entered). They will all have to register for VOI if they want a shot at the car AND will have to be there if they plan to take delivery. If the winner passes on the car (wins the chance but decides not to buy it beforehand) it won't jeopardize their VOI attendance in the slightest. The VCA will just do another drawing before VOI to get another qualified entrant.

I agree that if/when they release a yellow SRT that a few may paint it to match this one, while others just may not be that crazy about this paint job (I think the upcoming raffle car looks better myself). Should be interesting!

I called HQ to clarify the situation. If you register for VOI, you are then eligible for the drawing. If your name is drawn, you then have 2 weeks to make financial arrangements to secure the car. If you decide to pass, you lose the registration for the car and the special "drive away" program, NOT the VOI registration.

Concerns resolved, Thanks Chris!

Any pics of the "raffle car"?
Well they aren't "official" photos, but here is what appears on one of the suppliers websites:

You must be registered for see images

Count me in on that one for sure!

I think that the "real deal" car is really not that good looking. That black stripe and wheels do not really work for that car. It should just be a yellow car with possibly a yellow interior. That would be nice.

Can a member be drawn and then sign up for VOI or do you have to pay $800 to sign up for VOI just to be in the drawing? I want the car and I'm willing to go to VOI to get it.

I looked at a set of "smoke coated" polished wheels at a local speed shop and they don't look to bad. I would prefer the regular ones but then again what is unique about them. I guess I still like something different!
I'M TAKING THE CHANCE THAT THIS WILL BE ONE COOL LOOKING SRT and will look GREAT in my collection. The only problem is will my name get drawn. If anyone wants to help my odds and put their name in, let me know. Or is that against the rules (an earlier post made reference to doing that)?

Chris, from what I understand, the uncoming raffle car is NOT yellow

I certainly have no inside scoop, however somebody else posted a link to this page: http://www.venzanoviper.com/Page_2x.html

You will see that they claim this is the 2004 VCA Raffle car, however a different post from Joe says that it is not. Now that I think about it, the last raffle car was the yellow/black SRT-10, so that must be what this one represents. I never win anything as it is, so I am losing track. Sorry for passing along a little misguided info!

Cody - I believe VOI registration is required PRIOR to getting your name in for this car. The program guidelines read, in part: "You must be registered for VOI.8 to qualify for this program." In other words, if you aren' registered prior to sending in your request, you probably won't get your name in the pile.

DVC - I know one of the VCA members REALLY wants this car and that a few fellow members offered to enter their names to help his odds (they would sell it to him). The catch is that THEY (not him) would have to buy the car and take delivery in Dallas. For me, that would already be two strikes: I wouldn't take part in the delivery ceremony (could be fun), and I would be the second owner on the title. No thanks!

Joe, can we get an official ruling on this one?

Don't care for the looks of this yellow SRT-10. I'll pass on this one.

I Like Yellow - a lot! But not in this combo, the "Raffle" car looks like last year's raffle car to me?

The "Special" yellow cars, just don't do it for me, anyone know if they are going to build a Coupe? :)
