How many \"special\" editions have there been?

How many SRT10 special editions have there been?

1. Black Mamba
2. White Mamba
3. Silver Mamba
4. VCA Special Edition (Yellow/Black)
5. Copperhead
6. Commemorative Special Edition (White/Blue)

Did I miss any?

All this in just 3 years of production. Seems like DC maybe overdoing it and the special editions are in danger of loosing their specialness. Or maybe, the regular production SRT10 will be the rarities?

Re: How many

I find it funny that during GEN I and II there were only two special editions (minus one-off VCA raffle cars). The '98 GT2 and the '02 Final Edition. That's ten years of production and two special editions. GEN III has been in production for about 3 years and it already has six. Also, respected sources have stated that DC is about to release the upcoming, ZO6 anhilating, Fuschia Mamba with 50 additional HP from the 2-tone fuschia/white interior. A high performance "Stratus" 4-speed auto, cruise control, and stability control will also be included to help complete the Mamba line.

Re: How many

Would you consider the ketchup/mustard car a special edition?
Or maybe the white/blue stripe car in 96?

Or did they make to many of each to really call them "special"?

Didnt they also make one blue/whitestripe RT/10 (like the GTS)?

Also.. They made three Gen II that where red with gold wheels and I think one 94 or 95 with tan interior.

Re: How many

I think they might have called cars like the Ketchup Mustard car a limited production but they didnt have any plaques or production number plates in them that I recall to say whether or not they where.

You could say the 92 is a special edition since they only made what...200?

Re: How many

The corporate idea of a special edition is to increase sales. With a minimal additional cost, DC can boost interest and sales in a low volume car production line like the Viper. Just seems like every time you turn around, there is another special edition SRT10 coming out.

I would argue that since the Mambas came out at different production years that you could call them different special editions.

Last 300 sidepipe cars have plaques if I'm not mistaken.

Re: How many

Not a plaque per se. The frame near the heater was pin stamped with "last 300 Sidepipe."

Re: How many

With the commemorative edition I think they should run the stripes all the way.. down the front and not stop at duct.
just my 2cent but the white and blue does look sharp together.

Re: How many

So when DC decides to make a copperhead mamba, will that count as one special edition or two?

Those were just two of the three RT/10 color schemes in 1996. (The remaining color was black with silver stripe).

Thats a "one-off". You left off the solid white ones (forget the year) with no stripes made for the Dodge exec(s).
Also.. They made three Gen II that where red with gold wheels and I think one 94 or 95 with tan interior.
As I recall, the red with gold wheels was an option that anyone could have ordered. It was just that no-one liked it.

You might be right about that. I found out it was 7 cars built with the gold wheel option and I think they where all GTS's

I also heard the ketchup mustard car had the lowest production number amongst the black/silver and white/blue.

Im sure someone knows the answer to all this! :smirk:
