My brother was wondering how much is it to get an 08 hood + paint and install? Striper or w/o. Thanks!

If someone does this, I would like a price on a pre-painted one also. My car is Slate Chrystal Pearl, no stipres. I can install it, I would just like it painted with factory paint color when it arrives.

Vipair quoted me like $1100 plus about $300 for shipping, unpainted. That's an 08 style but with a slightly taller center cowl style to be a bit more agressive. Paint shop locally is quoting $500 for the paint

I will do the 08' hoods for $1350 (no vents or hood pad) plus shipping. I would also suggest that you do NOT have them pre painted before shipping because it is not easy to get a perfect match without having the car there to test, not to mention the possibility of shipping damage to the paint. Plus if there are stripes there is no way to insure they will match up perfect with the fascia stripes.

IMHO of course,

How much for the complete hood, including vents and pad?

Be careful when you have the stripe job done. Alot of people don't line them up very well and it does'nt look like the factory stripes, it makes all the difference in the world!

I have the 08 hood on my 06 coupe. Love the hood.

Good price on the hood from Woodhouse. A really good paint job can run 500$ or much more with stripes. Some have sent their Vipers to Woodhouuse to get the hood painted-and I believe a few were a long haul away.

My Viper is at Woodhouse for minor warranty work and and some other things that I will post about later on. While my Viper is there I am having them repaint the underside of the hood. The local shop did a good job on the top side but did not do a very good job on the underside of the hood. I have the pearl blue/silver color on my Viper and the local shop had a difficult time getting a good match with the pearl blue.

Make double sure that you get a very good body shop to do the painting.

If buying on Ebay, go through live.com and do a search for "ps3." It'll take you to Ebay, but give you 30% cashback. You have to wait 60 days for the money to come back to you, but it's worth it. $200 back per transaction maximum, be sure to look for banner before hitting "buy it now." This only works for Buy It Now products. Not a scam, I just got $600+ back into my account from purchases I made 2 months ago. Cashback ranges from 5-30% depending on time of day.

I think the people here need to know more about the match up of the stock air box on a 2003-2006 viper hood verses the 2008 hood. As I have not seen a 2008, around my neck of the woods, can someone who has seen them both on a 2003-2006 viper tell us how the 2008 seals to the earlier 2003-2006 air box?

I was wondering the same thing. Seems a lot of 03-06 cars have installed the 08 hood and I haven't read that there was a problem.:dunno:

I agree with you but from the quote" The Vipair hood is the only 08 look hood that will match your stock airbox exactly" under the pictures above it would indicate that there is a fitment problem.

The 08 hood fits perfect. No gaps, and quite a bit of room is available between the hood and the air box. No adjusting was required, and the hood does not touch anything. Very simple buy, paint, and install. No modifications necessary and it seals to the air box precisely, where no air escapes. My car runs significantly cooler, and looks completely different :D ! BTW the MOPAR Quality is TOP NOTCH, it's not too aggressive, and best of all it is OEM.
