Hello- I know this has been posted previously, but doing a search for stripes pulls up way too much..can anyone tell me a rough estimate to stripe a viper? just like factory..also if anyone has done the custom split stripe where it starts as one , any feedback would be great..

thanks!

You'll get a lot of suggestions for vinyl... don't do it! Painting is the right idea. I'm still unhappy with my vinyl stripes, and waiting for the time available to get them painted. From what I gathered, it ranges from $4k-$12k with $8k being average. Your milage may vary, but don't be afraid to shop around for better prices.

Good luck getting your snake! :2tu:

it does depend on how many miles are on your car because any chips must be fixed first before laying stipes down or when you go to clear the panel it will be ugly.... for a car with no miles I charge 2k and one with some miles its closer to 3k.. who ever you have do it make sure they know what there doing in laying out the stripes. I have seen way to many cars that are just plain F-ed up...

Warfang, your quotes are out of whack. I'm here on Long Island, it ain't exactly cheap living and I have had quotes of 3K to maybe 5K.

You have to consider that unless you are planning on keeping the car indefinetly you may be effecting the resale price by striping a non factory striped car. At the least you will be somewhat limiting an already small pool of potential buyers. Thats the advantage of vinyl (besides the price and "risk" of a bad paint job) Many buyers are turned off by non factory bling mods.

I'm just quoting prices I've read from here. The lowest I've read here over the years is $4k (now $3k), while the highest about $10-12k. This included complete disassemly of body panels, taking all of the old paint off and starting from scratch with the end result being no raised paint where the stripes are, and clearcoat above that. A bit too meticulous for me, but for some, worth the money. If anything, my average price might be off... I just took the medium of $4-12k. Seems people are more in the $3k-4k area.

If I'm bored today, I'll go look it up and link it here.

I put vinyl on mine to see if I would like it. I loved the looks of the car so much I had the stripes painted on and have never regretted it for a second. I paid $3k for mine and they removed front fascia, hood, roof, decklid and rear bumper so they would not get overspray on the rest of the car. Painted on the stripes and then cleared the entire car. I could care less about resale cost on my car mine it is so far from stock anyways. If I ever do sell it, I will then deal with it but for now it is my car and I will make it my own.

Just did mine. Check out the previous thread."stripes are In". Mine cost $2800, and the guy did a phenominal job. You can't even feel the edge.

Got a quote from Quigleys Paint and Body in Orange, CA. Great guys who do awesome work. Quote was in the neighborhood of $2k. Would be clear coated.

I was ready to pull the trigger, and then I found four bubbles under the paint on my hood... sigh. Don't wanna stripe the hood if its gonna need to be stripped later to let it gas out.

If you haven't bought yet and want a striped car, then I'd just go out and buy a striped car (your sig. says GTS coming soon). Just my 2 cents worth.

I corrected myself... $8k was just the middle of the amounts other members quoted. Most tended to be $3-4k, but I assume being in San Franfreako, I'm gonna have to bend over for anything... pun intended! :D

OMG........For F'ing stripes. You have to be kidding me. I can have them done for less than $1000.00 all day long. Factory or wider. They will be applied the same way that the factory does it. Here are a few pics of my custom stripes. 10" wide vs 8" wide. They line up perfectly. In some of the pics they look like they are off from panel to panel but they are not.

(Warfang) Josh,

I Viper client of mine highly suggested Lucky 7 in the Antioch/East Bay Area. They quoted him $1800-$3000 depending on the job you want. They said the $1800 would be a really nice job and $3000 would be an amazing job where they would clear coat the entire top of the car. They did some work on my clients truck and are in most custom car magazines for their work. Give them a shot.

Chad are they clear coated and buffed in or are they single stage on top of the factory paint?
