I need advice for optimal shift rpm\'s for stock SRT...

Hello;

I am getting ready to calibrate my new "G-TECH Competition Pro" performance computer (mounts on the windshield). In order to calibrate it accurately, I must input the optimal rpm range (then subtract 500 rpm for shift light alert). The instructions also recommend inputting a lower rpm number as well for reference.

I do believe our redline is now about 6,000 (or 5,800) rpm's. Is "redline" the optimal point of power and the best place to make an optimal gear-shift? I ask, because there were many references in the past to the GEN II reaching max hp before the redline. I cannot remember the stated rpm for the peak on the GEN II, but my memory recalls something about the Viper engine reaching peak hp at something like 4,800 rpm; redline was beyond that, but the hp actually started to go back down a bit. Do any of you remember this info?

Ultimately, for my G-Tech, I want to make the perfect shift at the optimal rpm (and enter a figure 500 rpm below this best spot). If you can advise me, I will be able to get the most out of the SRT. I know we have a shift light that will come on apparently at a high rpm, but I don't know if this indicates the "approaching fuel cut-off" limit, or the best place to shift?

Sorry this was a long question, but I thought I should explain what I was trying to do.

Also, has anybody weighed their SRT, with say, a full tank of gas (without anyone sitting in it)? I want to input a real figure for that as well.

Thanks!
