Re: I RODE IN AND DROVE THE WORLD\'S MOST POWERFUL SUPERCHARGED VIPER LAST NIGHT
John, thank you for the nice post! I have to thank you for coming over the night before last to help me bleed the clutch and button up a few last things!
I felt terrible when the pressure line to the power steering pump leaked all over everything and I could not take you for a ride{Especially after you drove probably 65-70 miles to my house from downtown Chicago}. After I got everything back together last night and drove the car and put it back up in the air to check for leaks, etc... I decided it was safe to call you and see if you were up for the ride promised to you had to take a raincheck on the night before.
I had John Walker drive my car as the brand new stock clutch did not feel right to me compared to the RPS carbon clutch!
John Walker is one of the Porsche spankee passengers who decided to get a Viper after he saw the ghetto asp whipping I put on the AWD TT.
Since it was all new/newly put together and motherF'ing cold, I told Walker and my friend Geoff I was going to go take J Dawg for an easy ride.==> John Walker told me," You think you're going to take it easy? Don't F'ing B.S. yourself!...... You're going on the highway right?"
I realized he was right and a funny MF to boot!
I fully intended to go easy since it was cold. I also intended to put on 250 easy stop and go miles on the clutch.......
On the way to pick up J Dawg, the regular streets felt ok, but i was apprehensive about really getting into it......
I got into the highway and paid the toll and kind of got into it and even though the tires were spinning, the car felt very stable. I was surprised to say the least.
I got off and waited for J Dawg to arrive after some bad directions from me.....
====> We stopped at the toll and there was an old lady with a ********** expression on her face because the car was so loud. I quietly told John to look at the expression on her face...
The toll gate went up and there was really nobody in the way{Which has never happened to me at only 2:00 am}
I eased through 1st and 2nd and started to squeeze on the power in 3rd.
==> The car felt motherF'ing fast (and stable) and I just stayed in it and was at almost 200 at the mile mark. I have done countless standing miles from this set of toll booths. A great stretch of road to say the least......
I took J Dawg around to all the good curves, tunnels and back roads.....
I also took him to the newest recent addition to the bad ass curves of Chicago highways. J Dawg agreed that some of these curves appeared to be 200 MPH sweepers...... He really seemed to comfortably enjoy the speed in an enthusiastic but calm sort of way.... the kind of way that I could tell he was wanting to drive Enzo Who himself......So after we fuelled up, I asked him if he wanted to drive.... He said yes and got in the car. I told him to move the seat back to give his legs some more room but he left everything alone and DROVE the car very well. At about 110 MPH, I told him to slalom. He initially did these little side to side movements and I told him to go bigger and bigger side to side. It is cool to be a passenger in your car with a good driver driving your car! After this he rolled into the throttle in 4th and the car felt even faster with him driving as I was now in the passenger seat! I can only imagine what it felt like for him sitting in the passenger seat when we did the standing mile an hour earlier!
I would like to answer some of the posts on this post to save time as I have to get to bed!
"Ron Viper" Crazy or not Paolo is the CAT'S ASS FOR MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR SOMONE ELSE TO EXPERENCE SUCH A RUSH. Christmas came early for J DAWG, Paolo hopefully one day we will meet, season's greetings.
==> Ron, when are you coming to Chicago for YOUR RIDE?
==> You might just have to settle for the Heffner Twin turbos! I think you can live with that? Don't you? LOL!
"TQ" Wow - what an experience! Definitely something to remember for life - glad you guys had such a fun day. My heart would still be beating, and I'd still be wearing a grin
==>Barry, I still have a ****** from the cold air, no traffic Heffner supercharged experience!
"TQ" Of course - to any cops reading this - the whole experience was in a dream right?
==> Barry, we went by some poor sucker in a Ford explorer that was being pulled over by 8 cops less than 2 minutes after the 200+ blast!
"Sapphire GTS" Im just doing that to get a raise out of him and I have met him a few times. He is known for driving 160mph to work and back.
Im just waiting for him to chime in.
Keith, I knew you were just breaking my balls!
"J DAWG" Hey D. We did hit the roadcourse. I was certainly impressed with how stable the car was at speed and around the coarse. Paolo has quite a bit of experience doing both and the car is certainly setup to handle even what PC can dish out. Simply an amazing all around car.
==>John, thanks! Just wait until it is warm out!
"Dennis" I am flying to Texas Friday AM to witness the V10 Nationals first hand. Can't wait to see Paolo and the rest of the high HP folks!!!
==> Dennis, I am glad you are going to be able to make it out! Please bring your digital camera! Can you say SHOTGUN?
"SapphireGTS" His car is stiff. Just standing next to it I grabed the rollcage and tried to rock it and it was like the body was screwed to the suspension.
==> Keith, I remember that night when you tried to shake the car. Are you still dating that girl?
"Walker" So everyone knows - around 3:30 am Paolo blasted past my house on the way back from his cruise with JDawg and of course woke me up.. He only goes out at night, usually after midnight. I drove that car earlier yesterday and can't say enough about how the suspension and brakes are..much better than mine.
==>John, I love waking up the neighbors!
"Sapphire GTS"I need to get a ride.
How many miles are on the Odomoter? Last time I saw, it was like almost 70,000. Must be like a new car after Heffner got done with it.
==> Keith, I have 77,800 miles on the clock.

Take care all, I will try to keep everybody posted!
