I think that's the car a guy posted pics of over on the other forum a few months ago while it was sitting in his garage . I recognize the front wheels having no center and the cabinets in the garage. Still have the other pics saved somewhere.

Things were going well until someone asked who owned the black car parked in the garage.. :hitfan:

They are SSR's and they can be ordered through Jon B/ Tire Rack.

Bad news is that I have had my set on order for 2+ months. These are made in China and they have to get a full case of them before they will ship them.

So I wouldnt hold my breath on getting them soon, and whatever parts rack/tire rack get, I bet most are already sold.

Jon
PS. And they do come with caps, they are just SSR caps, but I think you can get viper ones too to fit.

I got an email from Jon B. today in response to my request for the SSR's.
He said they are backordered and would not expect shipment till mid February.

I was hoping to pick up a set to run on the track for Viper Days...

whats with those *** stickers on the rims. i am assuming they peel off easy bacuase the one in the picture doesnt have them. SSR is also a brand sold by many large carriers, no love lost for jon but has anyone found this backorder to be the same as some of the larger boys in the business. Usually they can make exception and get these rims to places like tire rack and discount tire etc much faster than the smaller retailers like partsrack etc.

Your assumption about places having them available before PartsRack is WRONG. We should be able to ship these days-weeks before 'many large carriers' because we are small, fast, and nimble.

Your *** stickers come in the box, you dont have to install them. SSR caps are included, so are lug nuts! PartsRack has optional peel-stick viper logos of Pete or Fangs.

They are made in JAPAN, not China. SSR backorder applies across the planet in VIPER SIZES. This wheel only resumed production less than a year ago, after an SSR bankruptcy. TireRack and PartsRack combined and actually DROVE the resurection of the SSR for Viper. It was NOT planned for production, due to low-overall volume prior to shutdown in '05. We bought all we could find at that time. The 2nd wave of production is due in USA in FEB. We are accepting small deposits to lock in an order at '06 prices, UNDER $2000/set ! THANK YOU

SSR's are actually produced in Japan not China and they do come with center caps and lugs

the decals are supplied with the wheels but, you obviously do not have to put them on ... some people like them others don't. As far as "large dealers" getting them first The Tire Rack is the exclusive importer for SSR products to the North american market and we have them on back order at this time. They are tenatively scheduled to arrive here mid to late February. Looking at the inventory status right now I can assure you that The Parts Rack will be one of the first to recieve them when they arrive in the States

And on that list of Parts Rack Shippments, I'm sure Jon A (aka 2002_Viper_GTS_ACR) will be one of the first to get his 6 wheels (ps2 315s up front, 345 BFGs on one set of rears and ps2 335s on the other set of rears).

HURRRRRRRRY UP ALREADY JAPAN !! :D

What do they look like with the Center caps on? Any images with and without the Viper stickers that Jon mentioned?

Here is a closer pic of mine. I kind of liked the idea of one of the spokes being different, but didn't want to go with the SSR stickers. Had some vinyl viper logos cut instead.

One word of warning about the centercaps. They push in, and hold there with a rubber O-ring. Sounds good, but for whatever reason, one of my wheels would always pop off the centercap. Bounced it down the street once, but found it (all nicked up). Put it back on, bounced it off somewhere else and lost it. JonB sent me a couple replacements (wow, thanks Jon!!!), and I promptly lost one of those too. So down to my last centercap, I added a little silicon to the rubber O-ring and it has stayed on since. So watch those centercaps or you'll look like the first set of pics. :)

Also worth noting, these are the lightest 18" wheels I know of!

Those aren't that bad looking at all, they may look really good on my steel grey car. I am in the market for a new set of wheels and was going to get another set of Forgelines but now, maybe not. What are they made of? Are they 1, 2, or 3 piece? Some more info please.

Damn I was going to call you up to get a set of rears for my car. I don't want to remove the drag radial off my current SSR's, so I wanted 2 sets of rears.

Baz, here is my car, it is the older version of the SSR's with the polished lip. Obviously I had the centers painted black.
