Yesterday, I was in the right lane at a stoplight waiting for the light to turn. The driver to my left was in the "Left Turn Only" lane. Suddenly, the driver decided to turn right and proceeded to run into my left front fender and its environs. Upon hearing my sad tale, my son asked: Who was driving.....Stevie Wonder?"

As it turns out, the other driver was female............I know its probably not politically correct to indicate the sex of the offender. Nevertheless, the ditzy lady explained that she didn't see me!!! Hence, the Stevie Wonder question.

While I inherently knew that the repair would be expensive, I had no idea that it would be in excess of $9500.00. The cost of one wheel alone was $2850!!!! Fortunately, she was insured.

If anyone can tell me how to post pictures, I show ya'll what $9500 on the hoof looks like........

At least you are keeping your humor alive.

Was she singing "That's What Friends Are For" while driving? Sorry...could not resist.

Sorry to see that and hear that story, seems so damn irresponsible. I always ride with my lights on (parking and fog usually) just so I am even MORE visible. See me coming, see me going but most important SEE me..

Thanks for all the input. I honestly appreciate it.

However, yesterday a friend of my son's indicated he could perform the necessary repairs for less than half of the $9500 estimate. He did ask that I supply the materials.........

A roll of duct tape and a spray can of red paint (brand not important).

Sorry to hear of the crunch! Hopefully it won't be too long before she is back in the garage!

I am not too far from you... just a few miles S of B'ham.
