Installed 70mm TB\'s and Idles at 1,300 rpm\'s now

Installed 70mm TB's and Idles at 1,300 rpm's now.
Any ideas. Throttle stop is adjusted all the way out. Everything seems to be back to normal as far as the install. Haven't found any loose hoses.

Will the computer figure it out after 30 minutes or so? Should I disconnect the battery for the night?

Same thing happend to me after I installed mine its the TPS (throttle position sensr) I took mine to Chuck and he fixed the issue for me, because I coulden't

Funny... I have the same problem with "bored out/modified" throttle bodies.
Sometimes idle also creeps up and down, indicating a possible vacuum leak, but I have sprayed "starter gas" allover without any affect to idle.
So far unable to find the cause for 1200-1400RPM idle or Up-Down idle. Sometimes it calms down to 700RPM after idling 10 seconds or so..

If possible check your throttle position sensor voltage. at idle should be between .55 and .75 volts.

Have you tried resetting the TPS? May work. Just disconnect the pcm for about 15 minutes and then reconnect. After that turn the key on to the ignition but dont crank. Go to the throttle bracket and slowly rotate it to wide open throttle and then slowly return it to the closed postion(10 seconds each way). Turn off the key. Then crank the car.

Thanks guys,
I will try the TPS reset. It is weird. I was hoping the computer might learn what is going on. I am going to try disconnecting the battery and doing the TPS reset.
If anyone has any more ideas let me know.

may also have to adjust the TB blades them self if the tps reset isnt the cure. probably a screw that will adjust the opening/closure of the blade that can affect idle/drivablity.

Yep.. Make sure those throttle bodies are perfectly calibrated!! Mine idled rough for quite some time before I found out that was the problem.. uneven opening.

I hope you guys don't think this is a stupid question but where is the pcm on a Gen1 and how do you disconnect it? My idle hang is bad enough but now it also revs up and down from 500 rpm's up to 1500 rpm's, back and forth. Really embarrassing when surrounded by other cars. And which throttle bracket do I open to WOT? Driver or passenger side? I will try anything at this point.

pcm is on the passenger side of your car. Unplug all 3 connectors for 15 minutes. Never messed with a Gen 1 car and I forgot the throttle is independent for each tb. Hmmmmmm....honestly dunno. Where is the throttle position sensor? If you have just one sensor(which I assume you do) then just rotate that throttle cable and then make sure the tb cables are in synch and that should do it.

more specific - pcm passenger side right in front of the door when you open the hood.

Still playing around with it. It is pretty crazy. Who has added 70mm TB's and not had any problem?

on gen 1 it is the little black box on the left throttle body. Your problem sounds more like synchronizing the throttle bodies. Do a search on it,lots of threads about this. You have to do it every so often, esp if you floor your car. If that does not fix the hang. spray some carb clearer around the intake manifold gasket while the car is idling and listen to see if the rpms increase. If so you have a leaking intake manifold.

Took my car to the dealer today and the tech replaced the TPS with a new one. Seems to have taken care of the up and down idling but the idle hang is still there. Am taking it back next week, he is going to do more to try to get rid of the idle hang. At least the idle surging is gone. For now!!

I am having the same problem with my new throttle body for my 04. Just trying to find some help over here.
