Installing Eibachs now, NEED HELP - ADVISE.

Hey guys, I am installing Eibachs I took apart first front spring and now I look at the new Eibachs springs and they come in two sizes - 2 of them are longer than the other 2? Which ones to go on the front - shorter or longer ones?

The ones with a consistent coil gap go on front... i suggest you take them all off then you can compare front and rear to the eibachs.

Good luck with the install. I tried installing my Eibachs this weekend. when compressing the spring it kept compressing at an angle and could not get it apart so i give up:dunno:.

Ok, found on the manual - piece of paper at the bottom of the box that the long springs goes up front.
One wheel done, off to the next one.

Good luck with the install. I tried installing my Eibachs this weekend. when compressing the spring it kept compressing at an angle and could not get it apart so i give up:dunno:.

???? Shouldn't been hard to do. It will bend on an angle abit if you just compress one side of the spring and not use two spring compressor. I never done it on a Viper yet but quite a few other cars that has the same coil set up as the viper.

There is a detailed write up in the "How To" section done by yours truely.

In there I discuss taking them all off and going to a local shop that you already know can de spring them... dont forget to change the shock setting!

Yep, it is a challenge but doable. Read what cash84 said.
Last night I did left side in 7 hours :omg::omg::omg:. Today I will go to the other side and hopefully the learning curve will kick in and I will be able to do it quicker.
The springs themselves is only 1/3 of a job for me, taking shocks out and putting them back in was not easy either :(.

Rob, what do you mean "dont forget to change the shock setting!" Are you referring to tying up shock holding links/bushings on the rear of the car when the car is on the ground with the tire on?

Gen 3 / 4 are not Koni shocks, not adjustable like the Gen 2

I took mine all off and then took them up to local shop and they swapped out the springs for $35. The fronts came off easy but I had troubles getting the rears out.

That is common for some shops. The coils are too close together for them to get the machine between them... Last time we did this the fronts were done by one place and another place did the rear.
