J/K , Seriously, I think Stock they rode too soft and floaty in the turns. When I put the Moton suspension on and set a little high, that was stiff. So Id recommend either going to 18" wheels/tires, which would have more sidewall if you can find right sizes,therfore a little bit more cushion. Or you could invest in a nice suspension setup and just set compression/rebound real soft. When I take my Fiance out, I turn down the compression and rebound and its very comfortable ride, when Im going into hills and driving on my own, I can bump it up a little. Either way , you will have to spend some money.
Also, make sure to check your tire pressure,on stock runflats you should be around 32-34psi front and 30 psi rear. If your running around at 40psi,that could make for a rough ride. Also, changing out from non runflats helps ride and handling.

***** you have to change so many things to get it right,but it sure is nice once you do it.

omg, and my 06 coupe rides like a cadillac compared to my old 2002 ACR. I'm sorry but I think the stock 06 Copue is TOO soft, these are RACE CARS, not vettes.

Actually I suspect you are feeling the harshness of the stock suspension (bouncy). The Motons will control the ride better and give the sensation of a smoother better ride all around. They do control the body more but with less binding and harshness when mated with the proper spring rates.

I did this as well. Otherwise stock suspension.

PS2's definitely ride smoother and quieter than the Runflats.

I have to agree. I drove a 04 SRT10 expecting it to ride like a truck, but its actually pretty compliant and well damped. And this was with the OEM Run-Craps!

As others have said, replacing the tires will do WONDERS for your ride. The run-flats are resoponsible for the "jolts" that you feel even when the road itself is not particularly bad.

Get Motons, new springs (stiffer, but with a more linear progression than stock springs) and the car will handle better and be more comfortable.

Only downside is cost.

Glad to see that some people gave constructive advice. Mark has a point. Vipers are great cars. That's why I own one and have owned others in the past. But, they are punishing to drive. If the pouning ride doesn't inflict injury, then the cockpit heat likely will cook you like a turkey.

That said, enduring the harshness is worth it in the proper circumstances. But it's not necessary. Sure, my SRT ('03) rides better than my Gen 1, but that isn't saying much...it's the difference between really awful and not quite as awful. There are feeways that look smooth but my SRT rides so poorly that my vision about blurs.

A car that handles exceptionally well doesn't need to be punishing like the Viper. My Lotus Elise handles as well as the Viper (some would say better and there are track tests that bear that out) and the ride, even with the optional sport suspension, is so much better than the Viper that there is no comparison. The ride in Porsche Turbos is likewise far more civilized than the SRT. There are other examples, as well...dare I mention the Z06, which, say what you will, is quicker in most measured magazine speed tests including lap times, than the Viper and rides better (at least that's what I hear about the ride).

Anyway, for those of you who actually had civil responses to Mark: thanks. There are others of us who will benefit from your suggestions, as well.

If I wanted to feel like I was riding in a Cadillac or a Mercedes or a Lotus I would have bought one of those cars. I want to feel like I'm riding in a sports car. No car gives that feeling like a Viper.

A good suspension will allow you to feel the road, but won't be unsettled by bumps.

Carroll Smith, in a book on race car chassis/suspension set up states "Your race car should be easier and more pleasant to drive than your street car. If it isn't, someone is doing something wrong." I agree with him. I don't want to fight with my car. I want it to go where I point it, and I want the suspension to soak up bumps and not bounce all over the road.

The moton/spring upgrade combined with non-runflat tires will still give you good feel and control, but does not become unsettled over bumps. To me, that is the best of all worlds.

To each his own. If there are two cars that are equal in all respects and you prefer a punishing ride, that's your right. Just don't be unpleasant to others who prefer a sports car that is a bit more pleasant.
