Ok so here are the four driveable Gen V's we have here at VOI 12. This morning we had quite a bit of fog here so all the cars were nice and wet! :D

But the new cars...:omg:

Is the rear rubber 345 or 355? The red pilot car had 345s when I saw it.

Good pics. Is there anyway to "de-instagram" the photos? This trend of adding effects to photos is nauseating. I just want to see them as is. Gracias!

If they haven't been touched up please pardon my ignorance.

Love this thing so much... every little detail is awesome. But one thing is a bit "darnit" IMO but easily fixable. The GTS or SRT badges on the hood/fenders... I always loved the Viper badges on there. If I would ever get to own a Gen V I would put some "old school" Viper badges on there 8)

At Charlotte right now with Tom Sessions in the cup garages. If I get time later before the dinner I'll check the rubber size.Bigdawg, pics are edited. I'm limited on time and internet down here so when I get the chance I'll upload some 'naked' pics.Trust me, you guys that haven't seen the car in person give it time to give a good look. That red car is absolutely amazing and is fresh new from CAAP with a tan interior.--RS

It looks a lot better all color matched in the back! The only thing I don't like is the seam for the rear hatch. It sticks out like a sore thumb on the yellow. Not near as noticable on the original GTS.

And what's with the center black tinted area on the windshield? I know it serves its purpose for glare but it looks horrible... :crazy2:

There is just something weird about them. They all look like bulbous little toys. I have got to see one in person, ALL the pictures look funny to me.

Just got back from the dinner/gala. Met Kuno and Dom, also won my first centerpiece! If I had to say, it looks like Adrenline Red. Stryker pearl seems alot more richness in color.--RS

Don't get me wrong, I like the new Viper. However, the front end I believe creates a nice potential for aftermarket mods made by creative body aftermarket companies like Autoform (probably more than any other Gen body).

You are right. I didnt notice that before. It really sticks out on the yellow car especially when you look at all the other seams around the rear. The other seams are very tight and then the hatch seam is grand canyon wide in comparison. Does not look good at all.

That black treatment on the windshield makes it looks like Stryker is wearing sunglasses upside down lol...

Just a shame you are going to have to pay up over $100.00 for the car then change the front end :(
Its not for me in its current form :(

I agree, it looks much better in the base model - better hood and body colored rear end.

The piece by the rear glass is called the widow's peak. It's actually plastic...used to house the antenna / satelite radio. From what the engineers stated, carbon fiber doesn't work well for reception so they needed to add that. I like it body colored as well. The striped cars will be black and the solid colored cars will be body colored.

The gaps in the rear hatch are still not to factory specs. From what one of the engineers stated they are going to close that gap before production. We were lucky to get to see these prototype cars, let alone drive them.

Nice pictures...but I don't see anything I'm willing to pay $120,000+ for. Sorry.

Kinda hard to see if you haven't actually driven. I didn't care to much for the Nissan GT-R when in came out, in fact I hated it. After I felt it...holy crap did my feelings change.

Thats how I am with this car. I agree, it's more cartoony than the previous gens but you know what, I'm ok with that. There's still a level of sophistication to please those that require cupholders, comfort and A/C, but there still remains the raw, in your face attitude it's always had. I like most, hate the LEDs. After seeing them in person from a distance you know the devil is there waiting to sneek up on you and finish you. It looks evil enough. BUT the grill is an issue, for most. To me it reminds me of the Shelby Vipers.

Anyway, I have one last surprise coming that no magazine, photographer has done with the gen V. I'm pretty sure I'm the first.

I truly doubt there is a $20,000+ increase in performance. If you owned a Gen 4 you might understand.

No, there really isn't a $20,000 increase in performance for the launch edition. Those cars are premium cars for those that gotta have the first ones, all black laguna leather, the wheels the color combo, the speaker system, etc. It's all part of THAT package. Ralph even said the 2013 model year is going to be a short one and as soon as the cars are sold and built, 2014 info will come along. The 'base' SRT Viper starts at $97,395. Wasn't the ACR in the $104k range? Even the original MSRP for a base 2010 was $90-91k. It has integrated aero, but not 1000lbs of downforce aero it's still more of a street car. I don't get this mentality that if the 2013 isn't faster than the previous ACR it's not worth jack. Let it be, let it be two-three seconds slower. All these other brands have bells and whistle cars for WAY more than $100k with the exception of a few, their all two seconds slower than a gen IV ACR at the Ring. We know that. So if the base gen V falls just behind the ACR but is ahead of those other brands, I say job well done and when it comes time to build a new ACR, SRT should have no problem sticking it up front to everyone else.
