July 4th 2011 Parade Acceptance

I finally got in touch with the right person at the Lion's Club who is in charge of our July 4th Parade. He has given me the okay that we can participate in the parade. For those who don't remember, I march with our Fire Dept in the parade each year and notice that the Corvette Club up here participates each year.

I thought it would be great (and great fun) to have our Vipers in the parade along with the Corvettes!

I know its next year, but can I get some idea of who would consider going? We have problably a good 20 - 25 Vipers in the area. I need to give him an approximate count, would love it if we could make a strong showing.

That sounds good. I know its way off - next summer - but needed to find out if the Lion's Club would accept the idea.

Its not a large parade, so should be easy and manageable.

I also wanted to make sure that I didn't get us invited, only to have a couple of members actually attend the parade.

I'm in as long as I'm not on call, and I won't get that schedule until next spring. What day of the week does it fall on, that will factor in on how many people show up. Is there a rain date?

July 4th 2011 falls on a Monday, but not sure when they actually do the parade. My recollection is that it is held on that saturday, but I'll double check and get back to you.
