Went to WSIR on Saturday for a day of driving in circles. Other Vipers, Turbo Porsches, Turbo Supras, Mustang SCs etc.. It was a blast and I beat pretty much all the above cars, the only one to hang was a new M5 with slicks and a good driver. First session I ran a 1:40:34 (finally stopped tapping the brakes into turn 8) so I figure the 1:39x will come next session, wrong. Everything from there went wrong too much traffic, boiled my brake fluid and finally ran out of front brake pad material. Watch out Viperdays in Jan. at WSIR.

BTW where in SoCal can I buy Motul 600, and how much do I have to buy to replace the whole system.

I was thinking about coming out at the last minute. Glad I saved my money.

It'll be fun next time you and I get back out there. Sounds like you might actually offer me some competition for a change.....

Hey, aren't there any Touring Car Club or other events out there before January?

Any motorcycle shop or performance motorsport house will have it. Call first. I think Chapparral Motorsports is near you, they should have it. Two bottles for the system, three to be safe.

Did you really wear down the pads? Were they new before you started out?

Thanks Ulysses, I will make some calls. I had a set of EBC reds (street/strip) on. They were new but 2 trips to the track and they're gone.

Mike:

There are two events with Tracquest that are coming up later this month at Willow Springs and next month at Buttonwillow. These are both 2 day events (you can go for 1 day). Check out http://www.tracquest.net . Todd Serota runs an excellant driving school. If you think that Willow Springs is tough on brakes, wait until you get to Buttonwillow. It'll eat your brakes up.

Glad to hear that you had fun Ron! Sounds like you are getting your skills dialed in. Keep it up. I played around with that M5 at Buttonwillow, and he's a pretty good driver.

You might also consider Neo brake fluid and oils.

The Pantera/Ferrari club always welcomes Vipers to their open track days. Nice club with great people. Next event at Willow Springs (big track) is November 3-4. Will have Race Challenge also for race prepped cars. Give Jim Saxton a call at (626) 285-2024.

Please break the price down for me in parts (gaskets, oil, Ect.) and labor.

Thank you,

Socal,

"the only one to hang was a new M5"???

What about that old slow GenI that was less than two seconds behind you? Not to mention that I had the extra weight hauling Mark around with me.
