Please keep us posted on what the problem is. What month was your viper built?
Title says it all. The closet Dodge dealer is about 40 miles away. Is it safe to drive it to the dealer?
So far Chrysler has sent 2 wreckers that were not able to pick up the Viper due to clearance. I have repeatedly told them the car is a Viper and they show up with the huge trucks for a John Deere tractor. I am waiting on a call to see what a 3rd one will do. From all the starting and shutting down, the check engine light is gone off, but it is still running crappy. With the check engine light off, what is the risk to try to drive it 40 miles to the dealer? This is BS!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dealer that is doing the repair is coming in the morning. They claim they have carried Vipers before and are used to it. Hopefully so.
Basically, as long as it is not showing a flashing MIL - which would be from a misfire code, no damage should occur if you can get into the dealer.
The flashing MIL is used to warn that Catalyst damage is occuring if you continue to drive.
Can you do the "Three Key" to extract the P-codes for us? That will help recommend waiting or driving...
The 3 key cycles does NOT work on the Gen4 cars FYI.
P0305 is a cyl #5 miss... P0316 is misfire in the first 1000 engine revolutions. The two codes go hand in hand. Just means that the miss is occuring quite frequently.
If moving the plug wire and coil as a group doesn't move the issue to another cylinder, it could be that the number 5 injector is sticking and not dropping fuel properly.
And as a guess... if the plug is glazed... it's most likely the injector sticking.

For future reference, would you mind giving instructions for the 3 key method? In the old days I used a paper clip to connect terminals on a Supra Turbo and then counted blinks on the engine light to get codes.
The key will start out in the "on" position, you need to turn to off, on, off, on in about 2.9 seconds. To fast and nothing to slow and nothing so it may take a few times to get it right. When it is done correctly there will be codes (some) listed in the odometer area. If there are no codes there will be a row of dashes and then say done.
Hope this helps.
UPDATE
I PU my car about 2 hours ago. It runs good, maybe better than before. Replaced # 5 injector. Did not need a flash. Changed oil and filter. Everything is normal again. The birds are chirpin', the sun is shining, my Viper is back in the garage.
