The K&N system is not the best for the GEN IV's. The stock system is actually the best way to go. Dick Winkles mentioned they spent a lot of time developing the stock system.

i mean just a k&N filter in a stock air box. I was told there was sealing issues.

On the GEN IV's it's not just a filter replacement but a whole different setup. They are almost round filters attached to smooth tubes. I would stay away from the K&N setup on the GEN IV.

I replaced just my filter with a K+N filter only. My stock one had blow by oil on it so I replaced it when I did the catch can. No issues and the fit is perfict. Just dont think you will get more power from this. I only did it because I like K+N filters. I use them on all my cars no issues as long as you dont under or over oil them
