I am finally settling with the insurance company on my 99 GTS ACR (accident was 10/18/11).
I am hoping to buy an 08 Coupe or if I am really lucky- ACR. I loved the 99 but it was a radical beast. I’m thinking that I will be pretty happy with the stock 600 hp, and probably just do exhaust, and mopar ecu, down the road. A more refined beast is what I am looking for.

What do you think I can expect to pay for an 08 coupe vs. ACR? KBB says an 08 in perfect condition from a dealer should be $58,422. I am seeing asking prices of 65 to 72 for Coupes and 75- to 80 for ACR’S.

Do you think the pricing on the 08 will change when the 2013 Vipers come out?
If anyone know of an interesting 08 please let me know.

Thanks

A good condition lower mileage 08+ Coupe should pull mid-upper 60's. One with higher mileage but again, well taken care of should be low to mid 60's.

All IMO of course.

I know of a couple GA guys waiting on the Gen 5 to come out so they can get a Gen 4 at a better price. Not saying that prices will dip like that, but just a couple guys I know are betting on it.

Synfull, I remember reading about your accident, the was a helluva nice car you had. I too have been "glancing" at 08 pricing. Not that I will, but it would require me trading my 03, PLUS my 07 Superbee SRT8, which I'm not willing to do at this time. Like 1.8 said above, probably not going to see much under 60, but maybe some in the high 50s. I drive my cars, so I'm not as concerned about mileage. In fact, I prefer a car with some miles that's been maintained, as opposed to one which has sat most it's life. Sitting is not good for a car.

Good luck in your search. I see you're in Bucks, have we ever met at any local shows?

I think your range is pretty close. I've been keeping an eye out for some time now.
(I've been called a dreamer, talker, wannabe, whatever. I purchased an invesntment home VS. another car this fall, the car will wait, I will continue to watch)

Used stock ACRs should be able to be had for 75-80 no problem IMO. I watched several go in that range.
Stock coupes, I have seen several under 60 with some miles on use on them, a well cared for, documented low mile baby I would expect mid/upper 60s for sure.

In my opinion, I wouldn't pay 70+ for a non ACR '08. Not that I don't think they are worth it, rather ACRs can be had in the mid 70s and non ACRs can be had for well under 70.

I take it yours was the wrecked SC ACR I saw on ebay a while back :(

Thanks Scott. I definitely wouldn't give up 2 cars for the 08. Haven't been at any local shows other than 1 ******* night on Street rd. Hopefully we will meet up in the future. What color is you 03- I will keep an eye out for ya :)

Sounds nice. Do you have the care your possession? It will probably be a few more weeks before I am fully settled but I will keep your car in mind.

You never know I may still have it when you're ready. Just listed it in the classifieds. I have had great luck on this site selling all my old cars. You won't go wrong with a Gen IV even if you don't get mine. IMHO.

Sorry this happened to you after all the work and expense you put into your car.

Glad it turned out ok for you...espec if you end up with a Gen IV. No one got hurt and your ins co stepped up.

This begs a question/questions....

Are you satisfied with the ins payment? How much? Did they cover the extras?

What was the root cause of the accident? Brake line? IF so how was it damaged..ran over road debris?

Need to know, thanks

I bought a 08 Roadster in October of last year. 13K miles. Excellent shape. $65,500 from a dealer. Price was low for a convertible. Coupes had a lot more availability. Oddly enough though, at that time, cars that were Venom Red could be had for a good bit less cash. Not sure why, Venom Red is fairly rare. I have been watching the markets for convertibles and have not seen it change much. $65K to $75K for the most part.

Flew to MN and drove it home to TX.

FrgMstr, I remember that car, it was only about 20 mins from me at a local dealer. It being a convertible is what held me back from checking it out. Good price either way.

Everyone says Venom Red is priced lower because there are so many of them and it's not a great color.
I couldn't disagree more.
It's a strikingly beautiful color and I rarely ever see one. In fact I have only seen one in person and thought it looked terrific.

Venom red certainly worked for me, and if it was a bit cheaper because of it, oh well. My bank account didn't mind, and neither does my garage.

I agree with this 100%. I've never seen one in person (that I remember) and I go to ALOT of shows and have seen a lot of Vipers. I do like my Black 'vert, though!

Hey Gary,

I tried to send you some pictures of my '08 Coupe, but I get it returned saying your mailbox is full.

Let me know if you still want pics once you get it straightened out.

Venom red is actually fairly rare when you consider it was only offered in 08.

Remember that stripes are a 3k option and the lower 08 on the market are solid colors.

Venom Red is very nice color. I wanted an ACR in that color but missed it by a day. Viper Bright Blue is the best color IMO. I have an 08 Vert in VBB with silver stripes and I get more compliments on it than any other car I've ever had. Paid $73K brand spanking new. Of course that was right before Chrysler went bankrupt. Timing is everything. Smoking deal I think.

Don't think that Venom Red is discounted as much as before.

They were the original released color for the Gen IV, and while it looked terrific, it was a different color than many that pre-ordered were expecting.

Believe that is why so many became available. (now, not so much)

Bright Blue with silver stripes sounds amazing. Is there any where to see color combinations that were produced for 08? I have found them for 2010 in the viper mag but can't find 08 anywhere.
Thanks
