I am not a big fan of the gray either but I thought that changing your car from the OEM state devalues it later when it becomes an antique? This is why I am trying to recondition my interior panels to the same ugly gray color they were. Am I wrong? Should we try to keep everything stock? I know the original gen 1 wheels sell on ebay for much more than the ones people had chromed. I was planning on doing all kinds of upgrades before I learned it can devalue your car later so you may want to keep the original seats in your garage.

Question?

Do you have your Viper as an investment or do you have your Viper for the enjoyment it brings?

If you say both, that's not a valid answer as you really can't enjoy something where the value determines what you do.(opinion)

all my mods can be removed and put back to stock . with all original parts put away . the seats will be the same . was looking at recaro cs seats or clones .

Guess I should have quoted Dude80.

Always a good plan

I wouldn't say you're wrong for trying to refurbish the factory finish, it's just a lot more effort than most would put in and something that could always potentially be done later as well since you're just refinishing parts and not replacing them. Frankly, if I were to fully repaint the interior panels I would probably try to match the same factory color, but in a regular satin finish instead of the soft touch. Never really understood why car makers do that, but that's a different topic.
