driving with the check engine light on how does this affect performance



every time i clear the code, it comes back

If you do a search, you will find that in most cases, a check engine light can put your car in safe mode. This entails setting the A/F rich. I wouldn't worry about performance, I would worry about fixing the cause of the check engine light.

Try unplugging the wire connector to the sensor several times. This will clean the contacts. Also inspect the wiring in general. You might need a new sensor if that does not work.

I got that on my PT cruiser and it was related to a broken MAP sensor. Simple enough replacement. Take the sensor out and visually inspect it.

I had a MAP sensor go bad last summer. Call Chuck Tator at Tator's Dodge for an OEM replacement.
