Max HP and Boost on Stock Short Block GTS/RT10 (\'96-99MY)

I'm new to the Viper mod scene and wanted to know what is generally considered the max for boost and hp for a stock short block forged piston car ('96-99). For anyone responding please post how much boost your run? Octane? How much power? How long have you run it? Any track usage?

I have searched on both boards and I've found some examples, but it doens't say if the setups/tunes are for dyno runs only or for general driving around/street pounding or racing. I am really trying to get a feel for the durability of the Viper Forged Piston Cars.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I think you would be safe at 14 lbs with 11.5-1 A/F You should be able to double the Hp at with 14lbs boost

I noticed you are having SVS install your turbos. They are about as knowledgeable as anyone on this board about boost and the abilities of the Viper engine.
They have built world record salt flat cars, drag cars, powerful street cars, successful road racing cars, and have many years of experience with boost.
Word is they are very expensive and worth every penny.

Difficulty with your questions is that it is really many questions rolled into one. Each part of the question has a different answer.

The ability of the stock short block to handle large amounts of boost, hp and torque depends on how it is used. Drag racing, Road courses, street driving, endurance racing, Silver State open road type racing, all have different numbers.

When optimizing a boost car, it is important to know what you are optimizing the boost for. It is easier if a tuner knows how you are going to be using your car.

I understand what you are saying...but the only way to learn is to ask questions. I am in no way discounting SVS's experience. I am trying to utilize the combined and vast knowledge and experiences of the members of this board. I don't think any one tuner has cornered the market on expertise and experience. Also, there is more than one way to skin a cat. Tuning plays a huge role in the reliability of different setups. I've seen low hp/low boost cars go boom and some hi boost/hi hp cars live for ever under extreme conditions. I am looking to see what the board members have experienced.

10lbs for 3years here. 2 years 5k miles with Heffner SCi, and a couple months with Heffner TT running 7 & 10lbs, on 93 octane, about 2k miles so far.

I think 15lbs is normal with race gas(110), but I have yet to touch that area.

My engine is completely Stock.
