There was some spy shots a while ago of the Mercedes/Viper and saw this article on winding road of the new mercedes sls:

The head-on view is fairly grotesque, but the profile and rear look good, as does the interior.

"Acceleration on both cars (SLR and SLS) to 60 mph therefore stands at 3.6 seconds and both lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in just 7:40"

JUST 7:40???!!! Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahha!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

That's laughable for the price tag. I don't care if the steering wheel is studded with diamonds.

When I first saw pictures of the SLS a while ago,The first thing I thought was it kind of looked like a Viper. When it was running with camouflage it even had a cross hair piece covering the front grill area.

I'm sure the negative comments were the same given to Viper, when it was first introduced. That being said, I like it and consider the similarity to Viper a compliment. As an aside, I've already placed a deposit at my Merc dealer, for the 2012 next gen (all aluminum) SL.

Dang! :omg:

I have seen garbage cans that look better! :omg:

Would say Mercedes liked the way the Viper looked and are hoping to get some extra sales since it is no longer their car.

Anyone see a very slight similarity to an E-Type?

I cant wait untill Jag designs another vehicle looking similar to the E-Type. Its only a matter of time. Retro cars are IN

I'm not sure that they were trying to copy the Viper when they designed that Benz...there were a few other cars that come to mind looking at that design besides the Viper. Still not a pretty car though...

It is a bad pic. I walked around one in person and it looks way better than that photo. Not sure it looks as good as a Viper tho.

Boy, Just looked at all the pics...That car really does not photograph well. Makes me want to take a second look in person.

The Veritas kicks a$$ !
The SLS, while I'm sure it's dynamically a great car it's butt ugly. Although I'm sure it will impress at the valet stand, you'll never see one out for a track day.

Not nearly as fresh looking as the SLR it's supposed to replace. Definitely not attractive, but ugly is also a little harsh.... how about homely.:D

And while it shares the same long hood, short rear deck lid, I wouldn't call it a copy.

Its not an attempt to copy a Viper and kind of rediculous even to suggest that... Do you really think that the earth rotates around VIPER???

...as far as I know cars, the Mercedes 300SL existed already in 1954. This model is a direct REDO of that famous Gull Wing car.
