Up to now most of their stunning Viper stuff has been largely for looks. Apparently they have stepped it up a notch with this very cool shifter for the Viper:

Got that picture from the fine folks at Woodhouse Dodge and can't wait to hear what people think of it in person. Nice work George!!

Mark put one in my o6 yesterday. Should have the car back Tuesday, I'll let you know what I think of the shifter then. He also added a Paxton SC. I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas!!!

MGW has had a shifter for the 6 speed Cobra Mustang for some time. I put 1 in my supercharged '04 Saleen Cobra a couple years ago and have to say it is a quality unit & the best 1 available for the Mustang to date. Made worlds of difference in the shifting!

+1 On the group buy, I would be very interested. How about a group buy on the shifter plus the race knob? They dont even have it listed on their site yet.

We have the first 4 in existence so that's the reason it is not on MGWs site. We have been perfecting the spring package along with George before he releases it to the public. I feel the shifter is ready though and I'm sure he will be offering it shortly!

The shifter is very competitively priced at $299 so I don't know about a group buy. MGW products have always been pretty worth their weight in dollars. We are doing $375 with a gripper knob as a package.

I have a Cobra with a different shifter at present and feel that this would be a significant upgrade worth doing and I have always like mine before seeing and feeling this one.

I hated the stock shifter in my o6 coupe and replaced it with a hurst short throw shifter. That was an improvement. I then added stiffer springs (green). A little better. Will the MGW offer any improvement over the mods I have already made?

Just for your info the 08' shifter is different than the 03-06 cars. The lever off the shifter (not the knob stalk) is angled forward about 15 degrees more to make up for the longer tranny in the 08's. The nice thing about the MGW is the ability to adjust the arm for either car!

By the way we ARE successfully installing the 08' transmission and 08' diff in the Gen3 car without any real modifications or trouble so if you have questions please call.

My problem in the past has been the shift from 2nd to 3rd. With the MGW shifter it just seems to jump into 3rd from 2nd. Like I said I only got to drive the car about 20 miles but the shifter is a GREAT improvement over the stock one. It is not stiff, I guess it could be notchy but in a good way. GREAT UPGRADE

I'm sure glad you like it since I assured you you would! I love the feel also and we are selling more and more of them. I think they will be a great cost effective alternative to the now obsolete Hurst shifter. Hope you have some more time to enjoy the "new" ride!

Thanks again it was great working with you.

Hey Mark,

So what can we buy a 2008 trans for?

What else do we need to change, drive shaft, etc.

Hey Mark,

Dan

The transmission list for $3875, the diff is $1895, and the drive shaft is $375. If you want them all when they are really available in quantity I would do the package parts for $4995. If the current pricing comes down it may get better but we really lucked out getting these transmission in the first place. There are currently NONE available. I hope they come on line soon because there have been a few inquires about this package.

The 08' flywheel and clutch will be upgradeable also if you choose. The slave cylinder will need to be replaced and the flywheel will need to be re drilled to work on the 03'-06' cars but is an easy conversion. I don't have a firm price on these yet though.
