After years of hard work everything seems to be falling into place so I can finally buy my dream car. I have wanted one ever since I first saw one, which I believe was back in 92. Since I was in Jr High, I knew it was a long ways off. Now 18 years later and a billion work hours the time has come to stop saving so much and try to have a little fun. :drive:

If you have a B/W GTS for sale let me know because I am ready to buy. I am not looking for a garage queen so if yours has 10 miles on it and you want 60k, than I am sorry that is more than I want to spend. I am not 100% set on B/W.....probably just 99%. So if you have another color let me know (I want stripes though).

Time to let the shopping begin. :2tu:

Thats what I am hoping for. I know it isn't the best time to buy since it is Spring and prices are usually higher, but I am tired of investing everything and not having any fun.

You should put a 'wanted' add in the classifieds - because this post is likely to disappear soon... Just an FYI and don't feel wronged when it happens - rules are rules and it's nothing personal...

I will do that.

Disappear soon? Did I post this in the wrong section? If so....sorry. I have just been lurking for years, new to posting.:dunno:

Love b/w 96 & 97 Coupes! Best of luck in your hunt.

If you cannot find one in good shape that also matches budget...and, you move toward other colors, one of our members is selling his 97 "McViper" Coupe...1 of 14 made...stock, well maintained, great shape, 15,000 miles...never raced, no stories.
He's asking low 30's...might sell extra set of CCW wheels with tires.

Comically(or sadly)...when he drives his "McViper" and I drive our 97 b/w Coupe to a car show or low key gathering it's HIS car that attracts the crowd and has all of the snapshots taken...even over Ferrari's & Lambos, which are more common!!!

Yes. Too good.

I agree, if that car checks out OK it will be gone fast at that price. I would jump on it, even with shipping it is a deal. Find a member close to him to go look at it for you or you could even hire an independent company to inspect it, they are everywhere and probably pretty reasonable.

It would also help if you put your location.

any dealer would stroke a check TODAY for that car if its legit. Something isn't right, if he is trying to "sell" it private for that number. If that car is clean, and would pass a Viper Tech inspection. I just need the address to send a check to. thanks

Yes. Too good.

Depends. If 2001's are only worth low 40s, how is an older '96 at that price such a questionable sale? After having 5 Gen 2s I know there aren't many differences between the years, but there should be some price differential between cars 5 yrs apart.

I didn't think any "McViper" coupes got made in '97. I know there were 7 "Gold Package" GTS' made. I'll have to check my buyers guide I guess. Do you have any pics of your buddys car. Would be cool to see. :)

They are NOT comparable. Because it is a Blue and White (the most desirable color on a GTS bar none) with only 8K on it. They are far and few between with that low mileage, and if it is truly in perfect condition as claimed the true market value is 8-10K more than that. This is not some red or silver car with no demand, a dime a dozen.

I know someone who has been looking a long time, and can't find one at ANY price they are that rare. (With that low mileage and NO story). Sure, you see the Flea Bay car sell for some low figure but there is always a story.

^ I basically agree. The 96 and 97 B&W cars certainly demand a premium as there's a lot of demand for them. And despite lacking ABS, the 96 to 99 cars tend to be sought after in general because of the forged internals. So no, I wouldn't think a 2001 will tend to be worth considerably more than a 96 or 97 B&W. If anything, I'd take the 96 B&W all day long at the same price.

I agree that is the classic gen 2 everybody imagines as their dream car. B&W
