MOMO hub adapter

I just tried installing new MOMO wheel with momo hub adapter and the adapter seems to be about a 1/2" longer than stock hub.Splines barely grab and wheel slips.
Momo insist I have the right adapter.
Any ideas?
Can anyone tell me if their momo hub is longer than stock?

Shouldn't be this complicated....remove old hub install new

Follow up question.Does a 96 rt(no airbags)have a clock spring?
Only thing I find when I search for clock spring is airbag related
