Jerry, my first sports car was a 72 Datsun 240Z. I loved that car. Great date bait when I was in college. The unfortunate part was the complete lack of rust proofing. I had to weld bars across the frame rails to keep the seats from falling thru the floor. If you rolled back the carpet on the passenger side, you could watch the road going by under your feet.

Very high on my must have list is a fully restored 240Z. But my wife might object if it is still works as great date bait.

Yeah, Datsuns/Nissans have been a long time favorite of mine as well. I've owned 3 300ZXs, and have had this one for 14 years. I'm sure I will never part with it. The early cars sure did have some basic issues with rusting, etc., but they were light, inexpensive, and turned heads (as you note!). My current ZX has been an absolute blast to own, drive, modify, etc. Hope to see you out next time.
