I'm in the process of having Motons installed and I'm back and forth on where to install the front canister. I'm concerned about the heat generated in the engine compartment when mounting them to the cross brace, because I do track the car often. But I also don't know how easy it will be to make adjustments with them in the wheel-well. I know they install them in the engine compartment on the comp coupe but I also believe air flow through the comp coupe engine compartment is much different.
I ran through the search but didn't find anyone addressing placement and tracking the car.

I know they recommend not to put the canisters on the brace but I had the motons put on a few months ago with them installed on the brace. No problems at all.

I read a couple other post of a few Viper owners that do tracking with the canisters mounted on the brace. Like you say very easy to make adjustments. It sure makes it easier on my bad back.

Maybe others will give some info.

I have pic of where the front cannisters are located on the comp Coupe. I would like to send the pic to someone so that it can get posted. Please contact me.

I don't track my car, however, I had my mounted on the cross brace and I have not had a problem with them yet. The cannisters are very accessible at this location.
