For anyone interested in reading....Motor Trend just selected their "Best driver's car of the year for 2015". Take a wild guess which car had mechanical issues? Hint: It's made by GM and costs $100k.

The ACR thread at Corvette Forum is overwhelmingly positive, with the vast majority complimenting Dodge and heaping praises on the ACR. That car is just amazing. Long live the Viper!! Makes this comment seems rather petty and insecure.

Have those Vette owner bought a Viper?

If not, I at least know the tune will change as there is no way to convince 280k Vette owners the Viper is kick ass

If they start running ads with pretty girls and the fact that most of them think a corvette is cliche. Maybe also they could include the the new hot trend in a girls eye is raw horsepower, they wouldn't be able to keep up with the orders coming in.:D :lmao:

I purchased my Viper for under $100k, why isn't there a Viper in the line up?

This was a tough one. We really wanted to get the Viper ACR out to California for Best Driver’s Car, but Dodge was holding its press event at nearly the exact same time and couldn’t spare any cars. It just barely missed the cut.

Oh, I so hate that response.......

I know there are deadlines that need to be met and a host of other things that go into what Motor Trend does.

when I see that kind of response I see... "well our guy didn't make the time to get with their guy to work out a schedule"

However, I understand

Have a Great Day

It seems issues with the Z06 are getting to be common, even with Motor Trend, a magazine that favors GM. Back in February of this year MT had a comparison of the Corvette Z06 vs the Nissan GT-R NISMO http://www.motortrend.com/news/2015-chevrolet-corvette-z06-vs-2015-nissan-gt-r-nismo-comparison/ and the Z06 lost. So they did a retest http://www.motortrend.com/news/2015-chevrolet-corvette-z06-track-retest/ to make sure the Z06 would win. MT used some of these excuses for the Z06s poor performance, "excessive drag from all the downforce the aero kit was making had to be the reason the Z06 was slower" to "the real reason the Z06 was slower was because Chevrolet gave us a car with the rear suspension out of alignment". Now the latest excuse at Motor Trends Best Drivers Car comparison is "Chevy’s now thinking that California’s 91 octane confused the computer when it mixed with 93 octane from Arizona". I'll give cudos this time to MT for calling out that excuse as BS.

Yeah right! Motor Trend says they start planning for this event in early January but can't do a better job at scheduling? The ACR just broke 13 track records and a car magazine doesn't include it. What are they smoking at Motor Trend?

Not sure if was the same magazine, but I remember a similar thing to this back when someone was doing a Vette vs. Viper comparison. The Viper stopped faster than the Vette so they were saying maybe the Viper was just on a stickier portion of the track. You mean it couldn't just be better?

For real, I wouldn't be surprised if GM threatened to pull their advertising hence the retest. I mean when ever is crap like that done for a manufacture
