Looking to buy Motul 600. Is $12.50 /qt too pricey?

12.50 per "QUART" would be a phenominal buy! If you have a source, PartsRack is IN!
But Motul 600 comes in 500ml (pint) bottles, and full retail is $12.95.
[ One of my main frustrations is that it is difficult to ALWAYS offer a discount ! What constitutes a 'great buy' on a $12.95 item that you only need TWO of in the first place? You can search all over a region to even FIND the stuff....much less secure a bargain. ]

That price is good. Same as what I sell it for.
I agree with JonB. Resellers' margins are sometimes horrible, so we can't always offer discounts. We take care of you guys whenever we can!

How about the BMW high performance brake fluid. I have heard that it is the same as Motul but a few $$$ cheaper?

Call all the local motorcyle dealers in you area - they usually stock the stuff. Buy a case of it - thats about 6 yrs supply if you change it once every year. It'll cost you the price of dinner for two!!

After reading my post I want to apologize for sounding like a cheapskate, but I have a racing budget that I need to stay within.

About brake fluid.......many people don't realize brake fluid is hydroscopic by nature, it is meant to absorb moisture, so the brakes wont fail, but after winter and the car sitting often is is advisable to change the fluid often....so buy it cheap and change the fluid often! As brake fluid absorbs this moisture it loses its boiling point.

Buying a "6 year supply" I hope was a joke!
Motul-600 is probably the most hygroscopic of brake fluids, and even in sealed containers probably has a maximum 2-year shelf life. It manages to **** moisture thru the walls of the plastic bottle in that amount of time !

Motul 600 can be purchased directly from Porterfield Enterprises for $89.00 per case ($7.42 per bottle). Individual bottles sell for $8.95. The bottle size is 1/2 liter.
The only reason I can see for using Motul is if you do track events..then it is a must. I'd recommend you bleed/flush your brake system with at least one bottle per track event. Brake fluid is very inexpensive considering the safety margin it gives you at a track event.
By the way, we us Motul 600 as our clutch fluid also.
Personally, I never feel bad about paying a little extra to do business with Viper vendors. We need to keep them happy and in business to serve our continuing needs. Porterfield is not a Viper vendor.
