I was contemplating a few mods to the GTS and they were pretty expensive. The HID light kits are $500+ for ones that work, a good lower fascia protector is $200+, and a bra or 3M coating would run me $300+. Well, I contacted a friend in the machining business and we finally got this baby mounted today:

Besides the obvious protection it affords, it also is mounted low enough that the steel brackets are about 1" lower than the fascia. No more driveway scrapes! I am also pushing almost 1,000,000 candlepower with the KC Daylighters. While they are not street legal, I suspect I may be using them when traffic thins out a bit. Not sure what it will do for the aerodynamics at higher speeds. I may also have a problem with weight balance on the turns, as it is about 120 pounds of stainless steel. Gotta go out and drive her around and get used to the new balance. Pretty cool, eh?

Chris

PS. And you thought you got looks before, try it with one of these jewels on the front!

That is what I need for racing! Got anything for the rear? Gives new meaning to the "chrome horn".

Chris,

I think you have something there. Bet there would be a market for that with all those Vipers Down Under....Just in case a "Roo" got in the way while cruisin' down the highway in the Outback.

That's sweet Chris, always proud to be associated with the creative folk within the VCA.

May I recommend several high pitched animal whistles mounted along the lower edge to ward off pesky varmin???

That is awesome - and we saw it first! I think the ricer styling days are over - it's now offroading sports car styling that will inspire millions - and we saw it here first!

So Chris...

This would be DC's new '03 "Vumvee" for those owners that can't seem to keep their cars on the track?

I am so envious! But, you gave me an idea...I'm going to put a snow plow on the front of mine this winter. Then those who say the Viper is impractical will have to rethink their position, plus I can earn extra money for mods doing neighborhood driveways & parking lots!

Man, you're ready for the Outback, Chris! I bet when the Aussie Viper dudes see that you'll wish you had an international patent. Wait a minute! Isn't SlaughterJ a patent attorney? You're set!

Just a casual observation here, but I think a set of chromed step bars down the rocker covers would finish 'er off.

Here are some possible bumper stickers for your Snake:

"This vehicle is protected by Smith and Wesson"

"My kid bet up your honor roll kid"

"Elvis Lives!"

I am guessing that you meant "winch", but I am okay with "*****"!

Oh, and in case anybody SERIOUSLY thought I would let this grill guard even touch the GTS - shame, shame! Laura was correct in that it came off my Yukon XL but won't fit on the Denali (and I like the front end of the Denali too much to cover it up anyway). I placed it in front of the Viper on 2x4's and then Photoshopped the bottom out and added the correct shadows for the lights, etc. As usual, my neighbors thought I was insane (which is probably pretty close to the truth, given the previous shopping cart photo).
