I picked it up last week from SW.

It's formerly Dr. Roof's car then was Stacy Barnett's for quite a while. It's a monster twin turbo build that put down 1600HP on race gas. The fastest it's gone is 8.55 @ 174 in the 1/4 and was the former 6 speed world record holder for the Viper. It was the first turbo Viper to make over 1000HP to the ground. The car has a lot of history; some good, some bad. When they were experimenting with different turbo/motor setups this thing ate quite a few of 'em. It's been a full-fledged drag car, completely gutted with a cage, but has been toned down and converted back to street use. It started life as an RSI car (the water-to-air setup is indicative of that) and went to Underground for a full rebuild after that. Since it was last at UG it's gotten a new shortblock and new turbos. It has never been wrecked and only has a hair over 9k miles on it now (I bought it with 8800 last Wednesday).

Some of the stuff I know of:
• full Mark Williams rearend (shafts/axels/diff)
• 510 stroker motor
• twin 76mm turbos
• Stryker heads
• water-to-air intercooler with remote reservoir
• AEM engine management
• built tranny from LMR

I'm putting AC back in it this week, chasing down a PS leak and fixing a few small aesthetic things. Below are the pics from the classifieds, a few pics Spray took at ******* the day I got it and the videos of the car kicking the *#$% out of everything on the street at the Supra meets.

Interesting sidenote: The wheels on the car were actually on my 1993 RT/10 last year at this time. Justin (triblk6spd) had the Fikses for his black GTS but let me roll on them for a while before he sold them to a guy in Vegas. That guy just happened to be the owner of the car I just bought.

It's at 865/902 now, but the guys at ART said that their 93 octane tunes on similar builds are closer to 1100. I'm going to put filters on and see what Brian can muster.

Cool beans Jason, nice videos! :2tu:

Bet you're looking forward to TX2K11 :D

I kicked myself the last 2 years for not going, so I'm going this time. Hopefully I don't betray the reputation this car has :D

I'm taking it easy. I've hit full boost a few times but it's been on a straight road in 3rd gear. I'm working my way into it. I'm diggin' it!

Very nice, Jason...I've liked ALL the Vipers you've had...you have great taste! KUDOS

Thank you very much, Juli! It's unfortunate I had to trade my old car to get this one, but I like me a project and this car needs some work to make it prettier; the power is already handled!

Jason,

PM me your email. I think I may have some pics of this car from various V10 Nationals over the years.

You are now ruined. Owning a TT car totally changes your perspective on cars that "were" fast before. Since owning a TT car, I don't care about my other cars being fast. As it will never compare to the ***** ape speed of a TT viper. Enjoy it and be safe.

I agree. I have it turned way down; I can only imagine what full boost feels like. My Roe car was fast when you'd first stab the throttle; the response was instant. This is completely different.

Nice upgrade Jason, you've been a trade-o-holic this last year.

Very true. I never had any intention of selling my first car but when the prices of GTSs came down I jumped ship. Had I planned on trading I never would have dumped that money into it. I never planned on getting rid of the Roe car either, hence the 2.8L upgrade a month before selling. The right deal on the right car came about and I didn't feel like stretching it to make room for 2, so I traded again. I have now learned to never say never.

On the bright side I'm now in your Fast Taxi club! :D

Congratulations!

We may have seen your car at Heartland Park when Dr.R owned it.
I'll have to see if it's in any pictures too.

If anyone runs across pics (it was at the last few TX2K events too) please send 'em along to [email protected]. I'd love to have them.

And thanks for all the congrats! I just need to get AC in it and some filters on it so I can enjoy it in the Texas heat. My package from X2 should be here Monday.

Awesome car with lots of history built into it, no pun intended. I'm sure the guys at ART will be able to pull quite a bit more out of it then current as you spoke about above and mayme smooth the power curve out a bit more while they're at it.
Didn't you say you wanted to change the piping set up as well in time?

Congrats Jason!

Getting to talk with you these last few weeks about the car has been a thrill for me as well.

Really happy for you man! Can't wait to see the car in person!

Congrats!
